Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for aggregating random access requests across two or more physical random access channel (PRACH) occasions. Poor channel quality may inhibit the receipt of random access requests, and for user equipments (UEs) located in areas with relatively poor coverage, such aggregated random access requests may have an increased likelihood of successful receipt at a base station. The base station may configure a number of PRACH occasions to be available for aggregation of random access requests. A UE may receive PRACH configuration information from the base station, may aggregate a random access request across two or more PRACH occasions using the PRACH configuration information, and may transmit the aggregated random access request via the PRACH occasions. The base station may also configure one or more PRACH occasions to have a smaller subcarrier spacing for transmission of a random access request.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for time domain single carrier (SC) waveform communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may generate an SC waveform by resampling (e.g., up-sampling) mapped information bits prior to insertion of a cyclic prefix (CP) or guard interval (GI). Performing resampling prior to CP/GI insertion allows for resource allocation flexibility and a base station may allocate resources for the SC waveform in accordance with this flexibility. For example, a base station may not be limited or restricted to a certain number of resources for SC waveform communications and may therefore determine a resource allocation for the UE based on the capability of the UE to perform resampling prior to CP/GI insertion. The resampling may be performed according to a set of parameters including a resampling ratio, which may be indicated to the UE via control signaling (e.g., from the base station).

Abstract: In one aspect, an extended SSB (ESSB) is provided that includes more than four symbols to facilitate UE reception of SSBs. In this aspect, the base station configures an ESSB comprising an SSB including four symbols and an initial symbol preceding the SSB. The base station transmits and the UE receives at least a portion of the ESSB. The UE processes the ESSB. Thus, higher capacity UEs can benefit from additional coding gain in the initial symbol while lower capacity UEs can switch beams to receive back-to-back ESSBs. In another aspect, a UE performs additional behaviors to receive SSBs. In this aspect, the UE receives a first SSB using a reception beam, and the UE determines to maintain the reception beam for a second SSB or to switch the reception beam during a PSS symbol of the second SSB. Thus, lower capacity UEs can also receive back-to-back SSBs.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A wireless device such as a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a scheduling device such as a base station, control signaling which indicates a semi-persistent scheduling (SPS) configuration scheduling a burst of multiple downlink shared channel transmission opportunities during an SPS interval. Based on receiving the SPS configuration, the UE may receive downlink signaling from the base station in a downlink shared channel transmission opportunity of the SPS interval. In some other aspects, a UE may receive control signaling which indicates a configured grant (CG) that schedules a burst of multiple uplink shared channel transmission opportunities during a CG timing interval. Based on receiving the CG, the UE may transmit uplink signaling to the base station in an uplink shared channel transmission opportunity indicated by the CG.

In some aspects, a user equipment may receive scheduling information that schedules a shared channel that is associated with a first beamforming configuration; determine that a gap between the shared channel and a resource associated with a second beamforming configuration fails to satisfy a threshold, wherein the UE is configured to monitor the resource associated with the second beamforming configuration; and modify at least one of the gap to satisfy the threshold or the second beamforming configuration to match the first beamforming configuration based at least in part on determining that the gap fails to satisfy the threshold. Abstract: A method of wireless communication may include transmitting an uplink slot with a first control region, a second control region, and (e.g., optionally) a data region. Each region may include time resources and frequency resources. Transmitting the uplink slot may include transmitting the first control region in an earlier part of the uplink slot and transmitting the second control region (e.g., and the data region) in a later part of the uplink slot. The first control region may include time-critical control information and the second control region may include non-time-critical control information. A receiver receiving the uplink slot may receive the first control region before receiving the data region and the second control region.
