Abstract:
A disk drive includes a disk drive base, a disk, and a head stack assembly rotatably coupled to the base adjacent the disk surface of the disk. The disk drive includes an airflow channeling enclosure. The enclosure includes an airflow inlet disposed downstream of the head stack assembly and configured to receive the disk rotation induced airflow therethrough. The enclosure further includes an airflow channel extending along the disk surface from the airflow inlet. The enclosure further includes an outer wall extending along the disk surface from the airflow inlet and defining the airflow channel radially interior to the outer wall. The enclosure further includes an airflow outlet disposed upstream of the head stack assembly extending from the outer wall and the channel opposite the airflow inlet for modifying the disk rotation induced airflow passing from the channel.
Abstract:
A receiver adapted to receive both OFDM signals and single carrier signals is provided. The receiver possesses substantially commonly shared circuitry or function blocks, except an IFT (inverse Fourier transform) block adapted a receive frequency domain signals from a channel equalizer for converting the received frequency domain signal to a time domain signal, and a bypass for bypassing the IFT.
Abstract:
A method for constructing a simplified trellis diagram for BCH-encoded information is disclosed. BCH-encoded information is received, having a corresponding parity check matrix H. The parity check matrix H is expressed as an ordered sequence of columns of matrices. A sequence of sub-code words is provided, corresponding to one or more code words, each satisfying a given condition. A matrix Hcp, having columns that are generated as a selected permutation of the columns of the matrix H through a column-permutation-for-binary-matching process, is provided, and a sequence of sub-matrices and a corresponding sequence of permuted sub-code words is provided. A trellis diagram, representing an ordered sequence of code word transitions in the received information and symmetric about a central location, is provided for each code word c, connecting n+1 stages, numbered i=0, 1, . . . , n, in an ordered sequence.
Abstract:
The invention provides a method of reducing surfactant damage in compositions comprising at least one surfactant and at least one benefit agent. The reduction in damage is measurable by decrease in number of protein binding sites in presence versus absence of benefit agent, or when benefit agent has solubility outside a defined range. The invention further relates to compositions comprising said surfactants and benefit agent(s) having reduced surfactant damage.
Abstract:
A method of operating a disk drive including providing the disk drive. The disk drive includes a disk with data tracks and an actuator with a slider including a perpendicular magnetic write head. The write head includes leading and trailing sides defining a taper angle. The write head and the actuator define a maximum skew angle with respect to the data tracks. The maximum skew angle being greater than the taper angle. The method further includes rotating the slider during operation of the disk drive to reduce a difference between the skew and taper angles for aligning the write head with the data tracks.
Abstract:
The invention discloses process for enhancing squeaky feel by reducing or eliminating surfactant micelles on dilution. The present invention focuses, for example, on the relationship between counter-ion (e.g., cation, preferably salt cation) and surfactant. Specifically, it has been found that enhancing the precipitation of counter-ion-surfactant complex helps reduce surfactant micellar concentration, reduce surface tension and lead to enhanced “squeaky” feel. The precipitation can in turn be promoted by enhancing surfactant counter-ion interaction, e.g., by increasing sensitivity of surfactant to counter-ion (e.g., by using long chain length hydrophobe group), and/or by preformulating additional counter-ion into the surfactant solution. Micellar structure can also be reduced or eliminated by co-blending of surfactant, using co-solvent and/or using surfactants of lower Krafft point.
Abstract:
Following CMP, a magnetic tunnel junction stack may protrude through the oxide that surrounds it, making it susceptible to possible shorting to its sidewalls. The present invention overcomes this problem by depositing silicon nitride spacers on these sidewalls prior to oxide deposition and CMP. So, even though the stack may protrude through the top surface of the oxide after CMP, the spacers serve to prevent possible later shorting to the stack.
Abstract:
The graphics display architecture provided by the present invention comprises an AGP slot, a PCIE slot, and a control chip set. The control chip set comprises a plurality of multi-defined pins, which are electrically coupled to the first pins of the AGP slot and the second pins of the PCIE slot simultaneously. When the first graphics adapter is plugged in the AGP slot and the first graphics adapter complies with AGP interface specification, the multi-defined pins serve to send/receive the signal complied with AGP interface specification. When the first graphics adapter is plugged in the AGP slot and the first graphics adapter complies with the Gfx interface, the multi-defined pins serve to send/receive the signal complied with the Gfx interface. When the second graphics adapter is plugged in the PCIE slot, the multi-defined pins serve to send/receive the signal complied wit the PCIE interface specification.
Abstract:
There is provided a disk drive including a disk drive base and a spindle motor hub. The disk drive further includes first and second disks disposed about the spindle motor hub. The disk drive further includes a disk plate coupled to the disk drive base. The disk plate includes a plate body extending between the first and second disks for modifying air flow adjacent the first and second disks. The plate body includes a plate body thickness in a direction parallel to an axis of rotation of the spindle motor hub. The disk plate further includes an inner edge extending from the plate body and disposed towards the hub. The inner edge includes an edge thickness in a direction parallel to the axis of rotation less than the plate body thickness for mitigating against contact between the inner edge and the first and second disks.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a process for preparing or selecting compositions having a fragrance burst of at least 20% relative to a product before dilution. The composition is selected such that perfume and surfactant in said composition yields a calculated “Perfume Burst Index” (PBI) value of greater than 3 as per algorithm defining the PBI.
