    Abstract: A base station capable of communicating with a user equipment (UE) includes a transceiver configured to transmit Channel State Information-Reference Signal (CSI-RS) according to a CSI-RS configuration comprising a number of antenna ports, and downlink signals containing the CSI-RS configuration and a precoding-matrix-construction configuration for precoding matrix indicator (PMI) reporting on physical downlink shared channels (PDSCH), the precoding-matrix-construction configuration comprising a first and second sampling factors, O1 and O2, and a first and second numbers, N1 and N2 receive, from the UE, uplink signals containing a precoding matrix indicator (PMI) derived using the CSI-RS according to the precoding-matrix-construction configuration, a controller configured to convert the PMI to one of predetermined precoding matrices.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a communication method and system for converging a 5th-Generation (5G) communication system for supporting higher data rates beyond a 4th-Generation (4G) system with a technology for Internet of Things (IoT). The present disclosure may be applied to intelligent services based on the 5G communication technology and the IoT-related technology, such as smart home, smart building, smart city, smart car, connected car, health care, digital education, smart retail, security and safety services. The present disclosure proposes a PTRS operation and indication method for phase noise compensation in a wireless communication system. Specifically, disclosed is a method for configuring and indicating a suitable PTRS for a signal transmission environment through information exchange between a base station and a terminal having different oscillator characteristics.

    Abstract: A metal-air battery includes a unit cell wound into a roll. The unit cell includes a negative-electrode metal layer having a first surface located in a circumferential direction of the roll and a second surface facing the first surface and located in the circumferential direction of the roll; a first electrolyte film and a first positive-electrode layer sequentially disposed on the first surface of the negative-electrode metal layer; and a second electrolyte film and a second positive-electrode layer sequentially disposed on the second surface of the negative-electrode metal layer. The unit cell is wound in a way such that the first positive-electrode layer and the second positive-electrode layer face each other.

    Abstract: A 5th generation (5G) or pre-5G communication system supporting higher data rate after a 4th generation (4G) communication system such as a long-term evolution (LTE) is disclosed. The system includes a scalable frame structure to integrally support various services in a cellular wireless communication system, and provides a transmission/reception method to which the corresponding frame structure is applied, so that the system performance is improved through minimizing of inter-symbol interference between the 5G system and the LTE system or between the 5G systems. The scalable frame structure adjusts a cyclic prefix (CP) length by giving a specific pattern thereto when subcarrier spacing is extended, while maintaining a CP overhead in the same manner based on the frame structure based on a specific subcarrier spacing, thereby maintaining the 2m-times relationship between a symbol length, CP length, slot length, and subframe length.

    Abstract: A transmission method for communication by a transmission apparatus of a wireless communication system performing wireless communication in a beamforming scheme is disclosed. The method may include assigning identifiers to all transmission beam directions in which transmission is possible and transmitting a reference signal with a beam identifier assigned in each direction, when identifier information of a beam direction, which allows reception from a reception apparatus, and error detection information are received, examining the error detection information to examine whether an error exists, and transmitting a response signal to the reception apparatus according to whether the examined error exists, and transmitting and receiving data on the basis of the received beam information when the error does not exist, as a result of the examination of the error detection information.
