    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a communication method and system for converging a 5th-Generation (5G) communication system for supporting higher data rates beyond a 4th-Generation (4G) system with a technology for Internet of Things (IoT). The present disclosure may be applied to intelligent services based on the 5G communication technology and the IoT-related technology, such as smart home, smart building, smart city, smart car, connected car, health care, digital education, smart retail, security and safety services. The present disclosure proposes a PTRS operation and indication method for phase noise compensation in a wireless communication system. Specifically, disclosed is a method for configuring and indicating a suitable PTRS for a signal transmission environment through information exchange between a base station and a terminal having different oscillator characteristics.

A method for operating a terminal in a wireless communication system includes receiving configuration information regarding a random access channel (RACH) from a base station, and transmitting a RACH preamble based on the configuration information. The configuration information includes information indicating the number of RACH transmission occasions in a frequency axis. A terminal includes a processor configured to receive configuration information regarding a RACH from a base station, and transmit a RACH preamble according to the configuration information, wherein the configuration information includes information indicating the number of RACH transmission occasions in a frequency axis.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a 5G or pre-5G communication system to be provided for supporting a data transfer rate higher than that of a 4G communication system, such as LTE, and subsequent systems. The present invention relates to a method for transmitting and receiving a QAM signal in a filter bank-based multicarrier communication system, and an apparatus therefor. Particularly, the present invention provides an efficient transmission and reception method and apparatus capable of obtaining high performance in the transmission of a QAM signal without intrinsic interference in a multi-path delay channel environment in a filter bank-based multicarrier communication system. Accordingly, the present invention relates to a transmission method in a filter bank-based multicarrier (FBMC) communication system, and an apparatus therefor, the method comprising the steps of: spreading each of two QAM signals divided into a plurality of groups to a plurality of signals on a frequency axis; intersecting at least one signal, which is overlapped with a spread signal of an adjacent QAM signal among the plurality of spread signals, with the spread signal of the adjacent QAM signal; filtering, by each of the plurality of groups, the plurality of spread signals of which at least one signal has been intersected; and transmitting the plurality of filtered spread signals by being overlapped on a time axis.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a communication scheme and system for converging a 5th generation (5G) communication system for supporting a data rate higher than that of a 4th generation (4G) system with an internet of things (IoT) technology. The present disclosure relates to a radio network technology for use in a beamforming-based cellular system. A method for compensating phase noise by a user equipment (UE) is provided. The method comprises receiving, from a base station, association information between at least one phase tracking reference signal (PTRS) port and at least one demodulation reference signal (DMRS) port, identifying phase noise between the UE and the base station based on the association information, and compensating for the phase noise based on the result of the identification.

An apparatus and a method according to various embodiments of the present disclosure, may determine a sub-carrier for PTRS allocation and provide information relating to the PTRS allocation to a terminal, thus controlling PTRS interference caused from neighboring base stations and improving PTRS tracking performance.
