摘要： A refrigeration system includes a plurality of compressors connected in series with each other. Each compressor has an oil sump located in a gravitational bottom of the compressor. A common supply line supplies refrigerant and oil to each of the plurality of compressors. The plurality of compressors includes a lead compressor and one or more non-lead compressors. The common supply line is configured to return more oil to the lead compressor than to the one or more non-lead compressors. Oil sump pressures for the plurality of compressors are maintained such that the lead compressor has the highest oil sump pressure, and the oil sump pressures of the non-lead compressors are successively lower with respect to its position downstream of the lead compressor. As a result, oil is distributed between adjacent compressors from the lead compressor, which is a most upstream compressor, sequentially downstream to the one or more non-lead compressors.

摘要： A suction fitting coupled to a scroll compressor that has an outer housing with an inside diameter and a suction port defined in a wall of the outer housing. A suction duct is disposed inside the outer housing at a spaced distance from the wall of the outer housing. The suction duct defines an entrance port aligned with the suction port. The suction fitting includes a first member being generally cylindrical, and a second member being generally cylindrical. The second member is disposed inside the first member with a portion of the second member extending into the outer housing through the suction port, spanning the spaced distance to the suction duct, and coupling with the entrance port of the suction duct. Neither the first member nor the second member includes a suction screen for filtering out solid contaminants in a flow of refrigerant.

摘要： A scroll compressor that includes a housing and scroll compressor bodies disposed in the housing as well as a method of operation thereof is provided. The housing is separated into different chambers by a separator. One of the scroll bodies is sealed to the separator with a floating seal arrangement including a seal interface between a floating seal of the floating seal arrangement and a hub of a fixed scroll compressor body. A seal retaining ring prevents axial motion of a seal member of the seal interface during start-up operations due to pressure imbalances across the seal member.

摘要： A scroll compressor that includes a shell and scroll compressor bodies disposed in the shell. The scroll bodies include a first scroll body and a second scroll body, where the first and second scroll bodies have respective bases and respective scroll ribs that project from the respective bases. The scroll ribs are configured to mutually engage, and the second scroll body is movable relative to the first scroll body for compressing fluid. A pilot ring engages a perimeter surface of the first scroll body to limit movement of the first scroll body in the radial direction. Further, the shell includes different inner diameters to facilitate press fitting a motor into the shell where the motor includes lubricant flow passages.

The scroll compressor includes a key coupling acting upon the moveable scroll compressor body. The key coupling includes a ring body with a plurality of keys, with key contact surfaces, each of the keys projecting axially from the ring body. The key coupling includes four keys in separate quadrants defined by perpendicular lateral axes. The key coupling guides orbital movement of the moveable scroll compressor body along a linear translational path along a lateral axis.
