The cable connection assembly may include a main body defining an inner cavity adapted to receive a pressurized fluid and receive at least a portion of the cable. The cable connection assembly may also include an attachment mechanism adapted to couple the main body to the cable and a seal assembly adapted to sealingly couple the main body to the apparatus. The cable connection assembly may also include an inlet port passing through the main body for permitting the pressurized fluid to be injected into the inner cavity.

摘要： A connector for repairing and connecting at least one section of a first electrical cable having an outer surface, an interior end, an exterior end, and a central conductor portion. The connector includes a sleeve having first and second open ends, and a hollow interior to permit the passage of fluid therethrough. The connector also includes a port providing fluid communication with the hollow interior of the sleeve and into the central conductor portion of the first electrical cable. The sleeve is capable of receiving and forming a fluid-tight seal with the interior end of the first electrical cable.

摘要： A connector or similar apparatus for connecting or terminating at least one cable or cable section is provided. The connector includes at least one stepped cavity for receiving a cooperatingly sized and configured stepped conductor end of the cable or cable section. The stepped cavity includes two or more adjoining cavity sections of decreasing diameter. After insertion of the stepped conductor end of the cable or cable section into the stepped cavity, the cable or cable section may be affixed to the connector via crimping or other suitable coupling techniques. Prior to insertion, the stepped conductor end is cleaned so as to remove oxidation, dirt and debris, and/or strand fill, etc.

摘要： A cable connector, connector apparatus and method for introducing fluid to a cable. The cable connector, connector apparatus and method configured to form an electrically resistive barrier between components internal to the connector and the environment surrounding the connector after the introduction of the fluid. In one embodiment, a connector comprises a chamber adapted to affix a cable internal to the chamber, wherein the chamber is in fluidic communication with an injection port. The connector further comprises a valve operable to restrict fluid from entering the injection port from the chamber when a fluid source discontinues the introduction of fluid into the injection port. In another embodiment, a method of the present invention involves the application of an insulating material into an injection port of a connector following the application of a dielectric fluid, thereby forming an electrically resistive barrier between components internal to the connector and the external environment.
