Abstract:
A cable seal connector assembly includes an outer housing having a sealing area with a plurality of terminal insertion cavities configured to receive a wire and a cable seal of an electrical connection. The cable seal is disposed about the wire and configured to seal one terminal insertion cavity of the plurality of terminal insertion cavities. At least one terminal insertion cavity of the plurality of terminal insertion cavities includes a molded member integrally formed within the terminal insertion cavity when the outer housing is formed. The molded member is configured to seal the terminal insertion cavity, and the molded member configured to be removed from the terminal insertion cavity.
Abstract:
A terminal-thermistor assembly may include a thermistor and a terminal. The thermistor may include a body encasing a temperature-sensing element. The terminal may include a shaft and a housing disposed on an end of the shaft. The housing may include a cavity, a protrusion extending into the cavity and a cantilevered spring element. The spring element may be resiliently flexible between a first position in which a space between the spring element and the protrusion is less than a thickness of the body of the thermistor and a second position in which the space between the spring element and the protrusion is equal to the thickness of the body. A first surface of the thermistor body may contact the spring element and a second surface of the thermistor body opposite the first surface may contact the protrusion when the body is received within the cavity.
Abstract:
An assembly in which a housing and cover enclose an electric component and lock the electric component into place is provided. The electric component has two L-shaped terminals with notches formed in them that provide lock surfaces for the housing body. The housing body has locking arms that flex during installation and lock the electric component into place by mating with the lock surfaces. The cover body has bosses which push down upon the electric component during installation and lock pins which lock the flexible locking arms into place. The lock pins occupy the space between the locking arms and the backstops of the housing body thereby preventing the locking arms from moving out of position and disengaging the lock surfaces of the locking arms and terminals.
Abstract:
A connector assembly having a first connector portion, a second connector portion, and connector position assurance structure. An anti-deflection tab and an anti-deflection protrusion are employed in the connector assembly to control movement of the connector position assurance structure relative to the remainder of the connector assembly.
Abstract:
The present teachings provide for a connector including a first body and an assurance body. The first body defines a first locking member, a cavity and a slot. The cavity accepts a terminal inserted therein to a first distance. The slot extends into the first body and intersects the cavity. The first locking member is configured to prevent withdrawal of the terminal when the terminal is inserted to the first distance. The assurance body is movable between a preset and a full set position within the slot, and includes a reinforcing member and a second locking member. The full set position, the reinforcing member limits movement of the first locking member to prevent the withdrawal of the terminal, and the second locking member extends into the cavity to prevent withdrawal of the terminal independent of the first locking member.
Abstract:
A bused electrical center and a method for its construction. The bused electrical center includes a plurality of bus bars, which are housed between a bus bar housing and a filter housing, a filter device and a plurality of interface terminals that couple leads on the filter device to isolation tabs formed on the bus bars. No solder is employed to electrically or mechanically couple the interface terminals to the leads or to the isolation tabs such that the interface terminals are the sole means for electrically connecting the isolation tabs and the leads.
Abstract:
A method for evaluating a gauge controller is disclosed. The method includes counting a number of high pulses for a plurality of signal types until either each of the control signals present low signals. After the number of high signals are counted, an angular offset of a gauged needle is calculated.
Abstract:
A connector assembly having a first connector portion, a second connector portion, and connector position assurance structure. An anti-deflection tab and an anti-deflection protrusion are employed in the connector assembly to control movement of the connector position assurance structure relative to the remainder of the connector assembly.
Abstract:
A method of reprogramming a flash memory of a liquid crystal display (LCD) in a presentation device can include using an external electronic diagnostic tool and a controller area network (CAN) diagnostic interface within the device to initiate data transfer. Data can be transmitted to an LCD microcontroller within the device using a high speed infrared link between the diagnostic tool and microcontroller. The data can be stored in a memory within the device in bi-directional communication with the microcontroller. Proper reception by the microcontroller of the infrared transmitted data can be verified by the diagnostic tool and the CAN diagnostic interface. A command can be issued from the diagnostic tool directing how to employ the data to reprogram the LCD.
