    摘要: A fuse holder for holding a fuse is provided that includes a body, a line side connector supported by the body, and a load side connector supported by the body. The fuse holder also includes a toggle switch supported by the body and capable of toggled engagement in a first position that provides electrical connection. The switch is also capable of toggled engagement in a second position that provides electrical isolation between the line side connector and the load side connector. The fuse holder also includes a fuse carrier. The fuse carrier is supported by the body and adapted for holding the fuse and the fuse carrier is adapted to be removed from the fuse holder. The fuse holder includes a blocking device blocking the toggled engagement of the switch from the second position to the first position when the fuse carrier is not within the fuse holder.

    摘要: For protecting wildlife from high voltage conductors proximate to a utility pole, dielectric covers are used to cover fuse cutouts, bushings, solid-blade disconnects, lightning arrestors, or other connections to insulators. Such covers include a vertical slot for receiving an energized wire so the cover can be installed using a hot-stick while the wire is energized. The vertical slot substantially faces the utility pole. To prevent squirrels storing nuts in the cover via the vertical slot, a squirrel guard is fitted over the top of the cover to block access to the vertical slot in the cover. The guard has a second vertical slot for receiving the wire so can be installed while the wire is energized. The guard may be customized for the particular cover used with it. Retaining pins secure the guard and cover in place.

    摘要: A breaker switch includes a connector housing having plug-in contacts and a socket housing having sockets. The connector housing has a fuse chamber having an opening through which a fuse can be inserted into the fuse chamber. A lever pivotably mounts the housings such that the connector housing is movable with the lever relative to the socket housing between starting and final positions. In the starting position the housings disengage such that the contacts and sockets disengage. In the final position the housings engage such that the contacts and sockets engage. A cover is movably connected to the connector housing to move between opened and closed positions. The cover opens the fuse chamber opening when opened and closes the fuse chamber opening when closed. When the cover is opened the cover prevents the connector housing from moving to the final position thereby preventing the contacts and sockets from electrically connecting.

    摘要: An apparatus for protecting an operator or maintenance person from electrical shock when working near power distribution facilities. The device is characterized by easily snapping off for access to the electrical circuitry and easily snapping on again to afford the desired protection. The shield is transparent providing the operator with visual access to the electrical circuitry at all times, even when the protective device is in place. The apparatus contains a transparent insulative plate attached to a suitable number of insulative clips. In the preferred mode, these clips are positioned to snap onto cartridge type fuses in a multiphase fuse panel. When snapped in place, the clips hold the transparent insulative plate between the electrical circuitry and the operator or maintenance person. Test points are drilled through the transparent insulative plate at appropriate locations to provide for the insertion of test probes when the protective device is in place. An optional handle may be attached to the transparent insulative plate to assist in installation and removal. An alternative embodiment employs one or more skirts fixedly attached perpendicular to the insulative plate to provide further protection. To provide ease in manufacturing, all components may be molded as a single piece.

    摘要: A fuse cutout cover is disclosed that allows a lineman to engage a metal hook assembly and pull ring of the cutout with a loadbreak tool. The cutout also includes a wire connector and a metal top connector that leads from the wire connector to the top of the fuse. A front opening in the cover allows easy access by a loadbreak tool over a wide range of angles. A roof of the cover extends beyond the sidewalls of the opening and covers an end of the top connector. An inner vertical wall of the cover has a bottom edge that rests on the top surface of the top connector to space the roof from the top connector to provide additional vertical clearance when positioning the loadbreak tool to engage the cutout. The wall also blocks access to the enlarged open to prevent birds from nesting in the opening.

    摘要: A charging device for electric vehicles or plug-in hybrids has a housing. At least one printed circuit board with fuses thereon is arranged on the printed circuit board. The printed circuit board, together with the fuses, is arranged in the interior of the housing and is connected to the housing in a force-fitting and/or interlocking manner by at least one fastening element (2). A covering element (1) covers the printed circuit board and the fastening element (2) at least in sections, and insertion or removal of the fuses onto or from the printed circuit board can be carried out only by removing the printed circuit board from the interior of the housing. The covering element (1) has to be damaged at least in sections to remove the printed circuit board.
