Abstract:
An insertion and gathering device having two deflection wheels, a conveying apparatus circulating around the deflection wheels, receiving containers coupled to and moved along successively by the conveying apparatus with each receiving container having a pocket with an open upper end constituting an insertion opening and extending crosswise to the conveying direction, a feed station for feeding folded products into the insertion openings, a removal station for removing folded products from the receiving devices, and a stationary opening device for opening the folded products arranged between the feed station and the removal station downstream of the first deflection wheel.
Abstract:
A winding device for flat printed sheets has a rotatably supported winding drum for receiving and dispensing printed sheets. At least one winding mandrel having a winding belt wound thereon and configured to unwind the winding belt and feed undershot the winding belt to the winding drum is provided. The winding belt receives the printed sheets and, by being wound onto the winding drum together with the printed sheets, forms winding layers of the printed sheets on the winding drum. A touch probe detects an empty state of the winding drum, without printed sheets wound thereon, or a loaded state of the winding drum, having printed sheets wound thereon, by interacting with the winding belt or the printed sheets.
Abstract:
For a space-saving and cost-effective device for winding or unwinding printed products onto or off of a reel hub (3), which can be supported on a winding stand and to which at least one winding tape (10) is supplied undershot to the reel hub (3) and which can be rolled off a winding mandrel to form wound layers of printed products, the drivable reel hub (3) is permanently joined on the front to an upper column part (4) of the winding stand, which roughly vertically penetrates the winding axis (8), and is removably supported on the winding stand element (5), which is composed of the winding stand foot (12) and the lower column part (13).
Abstract:
A method and device for producing printed products wherein first primary products are supplied, respectively, fold first to successive, uniformly-spaced pockets disposed transversely to a conveying direction at a beginning of a first segment of a production path formed by feeders. Subsequently, the first primary product in each pocket is grasped at a protruding gripping edge and opened for insertion of a partial product or enclosure. A further primary product is supplied, respectively, to the successive pockets on a further segment adjoining the first segment of the production path for producing a further printed product, including partial products or enclosures, in the successive pockets.
Abstract:
A method and an apparatus for collecting or gathering printed products to form final printed products, such as newspapers, magazines, brochures and/or books, wherein the printed products are moved along supply lines and are supplied to one or more processing locations. At least two of the printed products intended for forming a final printed product are combined at a collecting point provided in a supply line and the combined printed products are further transported together.
Abstract:
Each of the pockets (3), which are arranged at regular distances apart and are moveable along an endless path, is provided with two vertically adjustable stops (14, 15) for the printed product (12) placed into the pocket (3). The stops (14, 15) are mounted displaceably in a pocket carrier (8). Within the pocket carrier (8) there is horizontally arranged a slide (18) which has two elongated openings (19, 20) of slight inclination to the horizontal. A projection (21, 22) on each stop (14, 15) is guided in the corresponding opening (19, 20) of the slide (18). A displacement of the slide (18) accordingly effects a vertical displacement of the stops (14, 15). A guide member (28) which is displaceable in the direction of the slide (18) on a carrier (29) fixed to the machine has a guide groove (32) for a projection (27) arranged on the protruding end of the slide (18). Upon the moving past of the pockets (3), the projection (27) moves through the guide groove (32) so that the slide (18) is brought into a corresponding horizontal position and the stops (14, 15) are brought into a corresponding vertical position. Upon change of the height of the printed product (12), therefore, only the guide member (28) need be newly set on the carrier (29) in order for the printed products (12) to lie at the correct height in all pockets (3).
Abstract:
A machine wherein stuffers are inserted between the panels of folded sheets, while the sheets are confined in receptacles advancing along an endless path, has a rotor which defines a portion of the path and supports several sets of sheet opening elements including swords which penetrate between the panels of folded sheets in adjacent receptacles to open up the sheets preparatory to admission of stuffers between the panels. The swords are mounted on a support which is adjustably secured to the rotor so that all of the swords are adjusted relative to the adjacent receptacles in response to proper adjustment of a single sword. This simplifies the change of setup when the machine is to be converted from treatment of folded sheets having relatively thick panels to treatment of folded sheets with thinner panels or vice versa.
