摘要: A machine and a winding process receiving a continuous flow of flat and flexible elements (10) aligned along a longitudinal axis and partially overlapping, to form a spool (6) by rolling these elements into a spiral around a drum (8), with insertion between the turns of a flexible central strip (26), one end of which is fixed onto the drum and the other end of which unwinds from a hub (60) on which the strip has previously been wound, characterised in that the machine also includes a motor-driven resource (54) to regulate the transverse position of the hub (60) so as to perform lateral movement in relation to the spool (6) in order to maintain a constant alignment of the strip (26) during the winding process.

摘要: The coiling apparatus for flexible planar articles (44), in particular printed products such as newspapers, magazines and parts thereof comprises a winding core (16), which is rotatably journalled in a frame (12) and drivable by a drive shaft (28), and a coiling band (24) which directs the flexible planar articles (44) essentially tangentially to the coiling core and is wound up onto the coiling core together with the planar articles. A drive train comprising a driving disc (38), a drive belt (40) and a drive belt disc (42) makes it possible to rotate the shaft (14) on which the winding core (16) is rotatably mounted from the same motor as drives the band reel (26). Between the winding core (16) and the rotary shaft (14) there is located a spiral spring (18) which is secured at its one end (20) to the winding core and at its other end (22) to the rotary shaft (14). The arrangement is so devised that the end (22) of the spring (18) can be moved relative to the spring end (20) in order to change the state of tension of the spring. The apparatus makes it possible in this manner to adapt the torque exerted onto the coiling core to the increasing coil diameter during winding up of the coiling band (24) with the planar articles (44). A regulating system is not necessary.

摘要: A stream of square folded sheets, wherein one marginal portion is thicker than the marginal portion which is parallel thereto, is fed into the nip of a rotary core and one or more flexible bands which are being convoluted onto the core whereby the sheets form a roll having convolutions which alternate with the convolutions of the band or bands. The thicker marginal portions of the sheets are fed in a direction at right angles to the axis of rotation of the core so that, in the absence of any undertaking to the contrary, the diameter of the respective end face of the roll would exceed the diameter of the other end face which is formed by the thinner marginal portions of the sheets. The development of such frustoconical roll is prevented by moving the single band or one of several bands close to that end face of the roll which is formed by the thicker marginal portions of the sheets and by maintaining the thus positioned band under requisite tension in order to compress the thicker marginal portions. The difference between the thicker and thinner marginal portions of the sheets can be monitored and the position(s) of one or more bands can be adjusted in automatic response to detection of the difference.

摘要: The present invention involves methods and apparatus for winding imbricated formations of multi-sheeted, twice-folded printing products into a roll together with a winding band wherein the individual multi-sheeted, twice-folded printing products are skewed in relation to the conveying direction of the imbricated formation by a small angle. The laterally protruding corners of the printing products lie on imaginary straight lines which run parallel to the conveying direction. The lateral fold edges of the printing products are mutually offset by a certain amount in a direction running transversely to the conveying direction. The lateral fold edges therefore do not end up one on top of the other during winding, as a result of which a thickening on one side of the roll is avoided.

摘要: To hold and transport folded printed products, a belt (18), for example a steel ribbon, has separating and holding elements (19), for example flat metal plates or sheets secured thereto. The transport belt (18) with the separating elements thereon is guided about a curved guide surface (20), for example a roller, whereupon the separating elements will spread or fan out from the underlying transport belt. In this spread or fanned out position, they can accept one sheet element (11) of a spread apart folded product (1), the separating element (19) gripping that sheet element (11) between itself and the transport belt. The folded products can then be transported, in scale-like or imbricated or shingled form, to a storage position, for example by rolling up the steel ribbon (18). The folded products are released be again passing the belt about a curved directing surface (26) which may again be a roller or the same roller, which will again fan out the separating elements, spreading them from the transport belt (18) for release of the folded products, for example for placement on a saddle or other support structure where they are held suspended from beneath the bend or fold thereof.

摘要: Partially overlapping sheets of a scalloped stream of sheets are delivered to spaced apart intermediate portions of two elastic bands. One end portion of each band is connected to a second core on which the bands are convoluted over each other so that their convolutions alternate, and the other end portions of the bands are connected to axially spaced apart portions of a first core which gathers a roll of sheets when it is driven in a direction to collect the bands while the sheets of the stream are delivered to the bands between the two cores. The cores are coaxial with each other and are mounted in a frame which further supports several sets of pulleys serving to move the two bands apart in the axial direction of the first core between the first and second cores so that the convolutions of the two bands on the first core overlie axially-spaced apart portions of convoluted paper sheets.

摘要: A substantially ring-shaped or annular winding core serving for the reception of a package of products wound thereupon is frictionally mountable at its substantially cylindrical inner surface upon drivable support wheels and can be again lifted-off such drivable support wheels. At the inner surface of the mounted winding core there can be placed into operative position beneath the support wheels an essentially freely rotatable guide wheel. This freely rotatable guide wheel prevents lift-off of the winding core from the support wheels and can increase the friction which prevails therebetween. In order to be able to use winding cores having a purely cylindrical smooth inner surface and during the rotation thereof to nonetheless ensure for an exact positioning in axial direction, the guide wheel is deflectable in its operative position about a deflection axis which is radially directed with respect to the mounted winding core, which imparts to the rotating winding core an axial movement component, and an impact or stop arrangement is provided for limiting such axial movement.
