Abstract:
A hand-held electric circuit tester includes a probe. The probe includes a hollow body, a control circuit, a probe member, and a speaker. The probe member is operatively mounted in the hollow body, and is configured to contact a probe location of an electric circuit to be measured and electrically connect the probe location with the control circuit to produce a measurement. The control circuit is configured to generate a voice signal with reference to the measurement of the probe and output the voice signal to the speaker, which is configured to generate a voice output with reference to the voice signal indicative of the measurement. The probe can include a first switch for operating the probe member, a microphone for voice activation, or a second switch for selecting between different voices for the voice output, with the different voices stored in computer-readable memory.
Abstract:
An optimization system for a vehicle includes a dongle and a wireless device. The vehicle includes a diagnostic port and an electronic control unit (ECU) electrically connected to the diagnostic port. The ECU includes a memory storing vehicle setting data. The dongle is configured to connect with the diagnostic port to enable the dongle to establish a wired communication link with the ECU. The wireless device includes a memory storing program instructions and a processor configured to execute the program instructions to establish a wireless communication link between the ECU and the wireless device via the connected dongle, to determine location data representative of a location of the vehicle, to determine environmental condition data at the location of the vehicle, to receive the vehicle setting data from the ECU, and to generate optimized vehicle setting data using at least the vehicle setting data and the environmental condition data.
Abstract:
An air conditioning service system includes an accumulator defining an accumulator chamber, a pressure transducer operably connected to the accumulator chamber, a drain valve operably connected to the accumulator chamber, and a controller operably connected to the pressure transducer and the drain valve. The controller includes a processor configured to execute program instructions stored in a memory to determine a volume of liquid drained from the accumulator by: determining a volumetric flow rate of liquid through the drain valve by controlling the drain valve with the controller to an open position for a predetermined period of time; detecting an increased rate of pressure reduction while the drain valve is open; and determining an amount of liquid drained through the drain valve based upon the volumetric flow rate and a total time elapsed between opening the drain valve and the increased rate of pressure reduction.
Abstract:
A quick service cart is provided with multiple functionality including a conventional cabinet structure that allow the technician to store tools and instruments for use in servicing or repairing a vehicle. The drawers of the cabinet are configured to prevent the drawers from tipping the cart over when fully extended. The cart also includes features for connecting to electrical and pneumatic tools and instruments, as well as structure for supporting separate tools, instruments and accessories. The cart includes a pair of handles that are ergonomically configured and positioned to facilitate moving the cart with minimal effort and minimal risk of tipping the cart over.
Abstract:
To display patient information, a computing device receives a set of diagnostic values for a patient, a processor of the computing device compares the set of diagnostic values with a set of predetermined normal values, and a video image is displayed having a graphical depiction of the diagnostic values in comparison to the related normal values. The related set of normal values is displayed at a predetermined region of the video image and the set of diagnostic values is displayed on the video image in relation to the certain region of the normal values. Varying levels of relative health of the patient are indicated according the placement of an icon relative to areas of the graphical depiction of the diagnostic values. The video image is a plurality of concentric circles with the diagnostic values being displayed relatively closer to a center of the display in response to the diagnostic values being relatively closer to the values of the related normal values.
Abstract:
A diagnostic tool and method are provided wherein the diagnostic tool can be configured to communicate a message including indicators to indicate the condition of the vehicle using a database and the DTCs present in the vehicle. The message can indicate for each DTC retrieved from the vehicle, the level of repair urgency and whether the vehicle can be driven without damaging the vehicle through one or both of a display and a speaker.
Abstract:
A service ecosystem for vehicles that includes various components that are connected to a cloud. One or more technicians wearing headsets can be verified and authenticated by the cloud to work on vehicles based on the technician's biometric information and on the vehicle service requested. The service ecosystem may provide instructions to the technicians to perform the vehicle service. The cloud may also provide requested technical service information to the technician and a service advisor and help to load balance technician so that the service can be completed as scheduled.
Abstract:
