    摘要: A railway passenger vehicle having a side wall mounted, modular shelving unit providing a convenience center for use in carrying or storing glasses, beverages and the like. The convenience center is a modular unit that may be assembled away from the vehicle and easily attached to a wall mounted seat rail during final assembly stages. The unit includes a mounting shell providing a trough that is attached to the seat rail and shaped to conform with the vehicle structure and also shaped to receive a number of storage or table top members that are suitable to receive various items frequently used by passengers. The trough portion of the convenience center includes a light which is powered by a cable that is carried in a hollow section and extends along the length of the convenient center. The light requires no external wiring to be connected through the walls and thus may be easily wired into the vehicle electrical system at the car ends as the convenience centers are installed.

    摘要: Visually appealing heterogeneous puffed flaked Ready-to-Eat (“R-T-E”) cereal products with varied texture and density have a first continuous denser portion and a second discontinuous portion in the form of more highly puffed discrete regions. The R-T-E cereal products are fabricated from a dried heterogeneous cooked cereal mass comprising a continuous phase provided by macerated cooked cereal ingredients, e.g., cut whole wheat and a discontinuous phase containing added discrete hydrated intact parboiled medium grain rice. The cereal products are made by preparation methods involving forming the workable heterogonous cooked cereal dough into wet pellets having discrete pieces of the parboiled rice; drying the wet pellets to form dried pellets; flaking the dried pellets to form wet flakes; and, heating the wet flakes to dry and puff the flakes to form puffed flakes having 2-5% moisture and bulk density of 270-480 g/liter. The flakes can be pre-sweetened.

    摘要: A computer implemented system and method provide navigation of information structures through corresponding graphical structures containing graphical nodes. Each graphical node has its own bounded volume defined in a relative 3D coordinate space. Each graphical node further may have a parent or child containment relationship with any other arbitrary graphical node. The containment relationships correspond to semantic containment relationships of corresponding information nodes in an information structure. As a result, the various 3D coordinate spaces are arbitrarily nested within each other, yet provide for a fully defined local coordinate frame of reference for contained objects. A viewer module manages a view volume in the coordinate space of a current one of the graphical nodes and associated current coordinate space. As the user moves a viewpoint in the current coordinate space, the view volume is dynamically rescaled in inverse proportion to the depth of the viewpoint in that space. The viewer module then dynamically selects for display only those child graphical nodes that have coordinate extents intersecting the rescaled view volume. The viewer module further allows navigation of the viewpoint from the coordinate space of a parent graphical node into the coordinate space of any of its child graphical nodes, representing a narrowing of a semantic scope within the information structure, and the reverse representing a broadening of semantic scope. A rate of change in the location of the viewpoint in the current coordinate space may be made proportional to the distance of the viewpoint from the rear plane of that bounded volume, preventing the viewpoint from ever reaching the rear plane, and providing a sensation of travel within a space of infinite depth.

    摘要: An enclosed railroad hopper car has a valve that controls the discharge of the commodity it carries. The valve is opened and closed by an operating mechanism that is subjected to vibration and inertial forces during transit. This can jar open the valve. A cap for the discharge hopper outlet opening interlocks with the valve operating mechanism when the valve is closed so as to prevent the valve from opening. The cap is held in its open position by a trap that prevents it from swinging closed while the car is being unloaded.
