Abstract:
To extract a metal value, particularly aluminium, from an aqueous feed stream containing the value to be extracted is treated in a recovery unit from which it passes to a contactor where it is contacted with a solvent stream including a partially water soluble extractant for the value and an organic diluent. The delivery from the contactor is separated into an organic phase, an aqueous raffinate and a dispersed intermediate phase. The organic phase is stripped of the value and recycled to the solvent stream. The raffinate as recycled by being added to the feed stream, and the intermediate phase is treated for recovery of extractant.

The apparatus can include a frame (110) and an external peripheral interface upstream port (120) coupled to the frame. The external peripheral interface upstream port can be configured to couple the apparatus to a host external peripheral interface port, where the host external peripheral interface port can be configured to couple a host device to a peripheral external to the host device. The apparatus can include a plurality of external peripheral interface downstream ports (131-133) coupled to the frame, where each external peripheral interface downstream port can be configured to couple the apparatus to an external peripheral interface thumb device, where the external peripheral interface thumb device can be configured to be coupled to a printing apparatus. The apparatus can include a cover (150) configured to cover external peripheral interface thumb devices coupled to the plurality of external peripheral interface downstream ports.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for using a wavelength as an address in an optical network are disclosed. In particular, methods for selecting a wavelength for a particular node in an optical network, resolving a wavelength for a destination node in an optical network from a network address, and receiving and transmitting data packets at particular wavelengths are disclosed. A resulting system implementing such methods may significantly reduce space, weight and power measurements while transferring data at high rates for a data network.
