Abstract:
A thermal image forming apparatus includes a platen roller and a thermal printhead. A heating portion of the thermal printhead has a plurality of heating elements arranged along an area where the platen roller and the thermal printhead form a printing nip. A plurality of driving integrated circuits are mounted on a substrate and connected to the heating elements of the heating portion. A block is formed higher than the driving integrated circuits such that the driving integrated circuits are disposed between the block and the heating portion. A conveying unit is disposed toward the heating portion of the thermal printhead and conveys a sheet of paper between the platen roller and the thermal printhead.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus is provided and includes a platen roller and a thermal printing head. The thermal printing head is elastically biased toward the platen roller and rotates about a pivot of the platen roller for moving between first and second positions to faces first and second surfaces of a medium. A transfer portion has driving and driven rollers which are rotatably engageable with each other to transfer the media. A guiding unit reduces a difference of media transfer force of the transfer portion when the thermal printing head is respectively located in the first and second positions.
Abstract:
Disclosed is an image forming apparatus including a body housing in which an opening is formed for providing removal/mounting access of a removable cartridge; a door member for selectively closing the opening. The removable cartridge includes a cartridge status chip in which predetermined information relating to the removable cartridge is recorded. The door member of the image forming apparatus and the removable cartridge may each be provided with respective contact terminal or terminals that engage when the door member is closed with the removable cartridge received in the body housing of the image forming apparatus. The controller of the image forming apparatus uses the electrical continuity information of the contact terminal or terminals in order to determine the closure status of the door member and to control the operation of the image forming apparatus accordingly.
Abstract:
A separator includes a porous substrate having a plurality of pores; and a porous coating layer formed on at least one surface of the porous substrate and made of a mixture of a plurality of inorganic particles and a binder polymer, wherein the binder polymer includes a first polyvinylidene fluoride-based copolymer having solubility of 25 weight % or more with respect to acetone at 350 C; a second polyvinylidene fluoride-based copolymer having solubility of 10 weight % or less with respect to acetone at 350 C; and a polymer having a cyano group. This separator decelerates deterioration of life span of an electrochemical device, and prevents disintercalation of inorganic particles in the porous coating layer, thereby improving safety of the electrochemical device.
Abstract:
A thermal printer and a printing method are provided. The thermal printer includes a thermal printhead for applying a predetermined amount of heat to a thermal recording paper to develop a print layer provided on the thermal recording paper; a feeding roller for feeding the thermal recording paper, a platen roller for facing the thermal printhead to support the thermal recording paper, wherein the thermal recording paper passes between the thermal printhead and the platen roller, a first encoder sensor for detecting a rotation of the platen roller, a second encoder sensor for detecting rotation of the feeding roller; a counting unit for counting first and second pulse signals generated from the first and second encoder sensors, respectively, and a switching unit of the first and second pulse signals as a variable to control the feeding of the thermal recording paper.
Abstract:
A thermal printer is provided including a cable which connects a main board and a recording head to form an image on a print medium by heating both surfaces of the print medium. The thermal printer includes a rotating unit rotatably installed within a frame. The thermal printer also includes a recording head, a support member, and a main board installed on the frame substantially above the first surface of the print medium. The main board applies power and provides image data to the recording head. A flexible cable is disposed on one side or both sides of the print medium so as to not to interfere with a transfer of the print medium and a reciprocating rotation of the recording head. The flexible cable connects the main board and the recording head. A control guide is disposed on a path where the flexible cable moves within the frame to control a degree to which the flexible cable is loosened when the recording head is located at a certain position.
Abstract:
A thermal image forming apparatus includes a platen roller which supports a medium, a print head, including a heating unit which applies heat to the medium to form an image thereon, which rotates around the platen roller and moves the heating unit to a first location facing a first surface of the medium and a second location facing a second surface of the medium, and a restricting element which rotates together with the print head. The restricting element restricts the movement of the platen roller in a transport direction of the medium so that the heating unit is placed at a printing nip formed by the platen roller and the print head when the print head is located at the first and second locations.

Abstract:
A thermal image forming apparatus is provided adapted to form images on both sides of a recording medium. The thermal image forming apparatus includes an image forming part having a recording head for forming an image on the recording medium and a support member facing the recording head and supporting the recording medium with respect to the recording head. The recording medium has a first side and a second side opposite to the first side. A position changing unit rotates the recording head around a shaft of the support member to move the recording head to first and second locations respectively facing the first and second sides of the recording medium.
Abstract:
