摘要: The disclosure relates to a method and apparatus for preventing oxidation or contamination during a circuit printing operation. The circuit printing operation can be directed to OLED-type printing. In an exemplary embodiment, the printing process is conducted at a load-locked printer housing having one or more of chambers. Each chamber is partitioned from the other chambers by physical gates or fluidic curtains. A controller coordinates transportation of a substrate through the system and purges the system by timely opening appropriate gates. The controller may also control the printing operation by energizing the print-head at a time when the substrate is positioned substantially thereunder.

摘要: A method for forming a printed material includes forming an image on a recording medium; applying particles to a surface of the recording medium, the surface having the image formed thereon; heating the particles applied to the recording medium; and pressurizing, in a thickness direction, a multilayer body obtained by folding the recording medium so that the heated particles are sandwiched between flaps of the recording medium or a multilayer body obtained by placing another medium on top of the recording medium with the heated particles therebetween. The particles contain a styrene resin and a (meth)acrylic acid ester resin. The (meth)acrylic acid ester resin contains two (meth)acrylic acid ester monomer units, and a mass ratio of the (meth)acrylic acid ester monomer units relative to a total of polymerization components is 90 mass % or more.

摘要: A roller assembly for a heat transfer printing system or hot foil transfer system is provided. The roller assembly includes a cylindrical roller core that extends around a center axis. The roller core includes an exterior surface and an opposite interior surface. The exterior surface is positioned to face a target object being printed upon. The roller assembly also includes a pliable tube in contact with the exterior surface and positioned to contact a thermal print ribbon disposed between the tube and the target object while the roller core is rotated to apply pressure on the ribbon and print onto the target object from the ribbon. The tube is not bonded to the roller core.

摘要: A method of operating a thermal transfer printer, the thermal transfer printer comprising first and second spool supports (3a, 4a) each being configured to support a spool of ribbon (3,4); a ribbon drive (3b, 4b) configured to cause movement of ribbon from the first spool support to the second spool support along a predetermined ribbon path; and a printhead (7). The printhead (7) is moveable towards and away from a printing surface, and, during printing, is configured to selectively transfer ink from the ribbon to a substrate as the substrate and printhead are moved relative to one another at a print speed (V-substrate). The method comprising causing relative movement between the ribbon and the printhead at a ribbon speed (V-ribbon). A relative speed of movement between the ribbon and the substrate during printing is controlled based upon a force exerted upon the ribbon by the printhead (F-printhead) during a printing operation, and/or a parameter indicative of an area of contact between a portion of the printhead and a portion of the printing surface.

The exemplary thermographic presentation system captures residual heat from human touch and/or breath on a surface over time and generates a visual representation of the captured heat pattern. The visual representation may be generated in real time using a visual light projector or stored for subsequent presentation, which may include generating a physical print of the visual representation. In one embodiment the system may be deployed as an art or science exhibit. In general, the system may be deployed in any setting in which individuals gather, including, but not limited to, art galleries, schools, science fairs, trade shows, music venues, dance clubs, restaurants, homes, and public spaces.

摘要: A printing device includes: a printing mechanism; a housing having a casing and a cover; a first frame member; a second frame member; an engaging member; and an abutting part. The first frame member supports the printing mechanism. The second frame member supports the printing medium. The second frame member is juxtaposed with the first frame member in a first direction. The engaging member is supported to the first frame member. The engaging member is movable between a first position in engagement with the cover and a second position out of engagement with the cover. The abutting part is provided at at least one of the first frame member and the second frame member. The abutting part avoids direct contact between the engaging member in the first position and the second frame member when the second frame member is deformed and contacts the first frame member through the abutting part.

摘要: An automatic product sublimation process is disclosed allowing for point-of-sale customization of sublimation parameters in a retail environment. A dye sublimation transfer printing system is configured to print one or more images onto transfer media, then position the media onto a substrate. A selected product is positioned on top of the media. The system is configured to automatically determine, by a processor, one or more of a temperature and duration of a single thermal cycle to sublimate the one or more images onto the selected product. The determination may be based on properties of the product, characteristics of the images, or both. One or more heating platens engage the transfer media to sublimate the product in a single thermal cycle, wherein at least one of the cycle's temperature and duration match the determined values. The disclosed process improves the quality of the sublimation technique, yet requires no substantive operator training.

摘要: A safe, integrated dye sublimation printer apparatus is disclosed. The apparatus is configured to print one or more images onto a selected product using one or more heating platens to sublimate the image. The heating platen is configured to sublimate one or more opposing sides of a product substantially simultaneously in a single thermal cycle. In some embodiments, the apparatus may be incorporated into a fully-enclosed vending machine to provide on-demand personalized sublimated products and accessories for a consumer.
