Abstract:
Imaging apparatus including a first member having a first surface having formed thereon a latent electrostatic image, the latent electrostatic image including image regions at a first voltage and background regions at a second voltage, a second member charged to a third voltage intermediate the first and second voltages and having a second surface adapted for resilient engagement with the first surface and a third member adapted for resilient contact with the second surface in a transfer region. The imaging apparatus also includes apparatus for supplying liquid toner to the transfer region thereby forming on the second surface a thin layer of liquid toner containing a relatively high concentration of charged toner particles and apparatus for developing the latent image by the selective transfer of portions of the layer of liquid toner from the second surface to the first surface.
Abstract:
A method of performing a user related operation includes, with an optical reader, reading an encoded on-line address being displayed on a display of a pocket-sized card to be carried by a user; decoding the encoded on-line address; requesting access to remotely stored data using the on-line address, the remotely stored data being related to the user; and, upon the requested access being granted, loading the remotely stored data.
Abstract:
A covert label. A substrate comprises a field of ink. Disposed within the field of ink, is ink that can be preferentially removed according to a preconfigured pattern. The preconfigured pattern comprises information associable with at least one object.
Abstract:
A print service system including a first stage module to set non-price service terms between a buyer and print service providers, and a second stage module to produce price-based terms between the buyer and one print service provider.
Abstract:
One example discloses a system comprising a memory for storing machine readable instructions and a processing unit for accessing the memory and executing the machine readable instructions. The machine readable instructions can comprise a print order hub to determine a cost optimized solution for fulfilling a print order. The determination of the cost optimize solution can be based on a calculation of a price charged for preparing material for the print order and shipping the material for the print order to a destination identified in the print order for a plurality of print service providers.
Abstract:
Different pieces of Internet content are manually selected during viewing on a screen, the selected pieces are arranged into a single publication, and the publication is sent to print.
Abstract:
The present disclosure is directed systems and methods of sorting print jobs for assignment to a plurality of print service providers. In one aspect, such a method can include receiving at a print server a plurality of print jobs having a plurality of print parameters from a plurality of users, where individual print jobs have multiple print parameters being represented in a portion of the plurality of print jobs. The method can further include selecting a prioritization factor, identifying a plurality of print service providers having at least partially different printing configurations, sorting the plurality of print jobs into a plurality of print job groupings based on common printing parameters and the prioritization factor, and sending the plurality of print job groupings to the plurality of print service providers to achieve the common print parameters and the prioritization factor.
Abstract:
A system for providing promotion information includes a mobile electronic device configured to scan a printed tag on a first commercial offering being offered for sale, and wirelessly transmit corresponding tag information. A promotion system is configured to receive the transmitted tag information, identify promotion information associated with the first commercial offering based on the tag information, and wirelessly transmit the identified promotion information to the mobile electronic device.
Abstract:
A printing method comprising: forming a first image utilizing a liquid toner comprising carrier liquid and pigmented polymer particles having a first color; transferring the first image to an intermediate transfer member; forming at least one additional image utilizing a liquid toner comprising at least one carrier liquid and pigmented polymer particles having a second color, different from the first color; transferring the at least one additional image to the intermediate transfer member overlaid on the first image, to form a composite image on the intermediate transfer member; and further transferring the composite image to a further substrate, wherein said polymer particles in said first liquid toner and in at least one of said additional liquid toners have different compositions, aside from colorants, the differences in composition including at least one of different polymers or blends of polymers, different amounts or types of placticizers, different amounts of solvated liquid and different compositions of solvated liquid.
