Abstract: Baffles for food waste disposers, systems employing such baffles, and methods of assembling, manufacturing, fabricating, or operating such baffles or baffle systems are disclosed herein. In one example embodiment, a baffle for implementation in connection with a waste disposer includes a rim portion, a plurality of flaps, and a plurality of living hinges, where the rim portion, living hinges, and flaps constitute a single integrally-formed structure. The respective living hinges permit the respective flaps to be rotatable about respective axes that respectively are substantially tangent to respective locations along or proximate to the rim portion, so that the respective flaps can be rotated to respective closed positions. Either the living hinges or at least one additional component tend to cause the respective flaps to remain at the respective closed positions when already at those respective positions, or to return to those respective positions when not at those respective positions.

Abstract: An upright vacuum cleaner includes a cleaning head for removing debris from a floor, a debris tube connected to the cleaning head for receiving the debris, and a steering handle connected to the debris tube. The upright vacuum cleaner also includes a hinge connecting the debris tube to the cleaning head such that the debris tube rotates relative to the cleaning head. The upright vacuum cleaner further includes braces to support the debris tube as the debris tube rotates relative to the cleaning head. The braces are disposed on opposite sides of the debris tube. Each brace includes a bearing connected to the cleaning head to allow the brace to rotate relative to the cleaning head.

Abstract: A gas powered appliance includes a burner for burning gas, a flame sensor positioned proximate the burner to detect a strength of a flame on the burner and to output signals indicative of the strength of the flame, and a controller connected to the flame sensor. The controller includes a communication interface, a processor, and a memory containing instructions that program the controller to control the burner, receive the signals from the flame sensor indicative of the strength of the flame, determine the strength of the flame from the received signals, and output, using the communication interface, an indication of the strength of the flame to a mobile device for display on the mobile device.

Abstract: A system and method of operating a gas fuel valve control circuit are disclosed. Abstract: Mounting systems for waste disposers such as food waste disposers, waste disposers employing such systems, and related methods, a mounting system includes a flange component having first and second ends and a tubular structure extending along a first axis between the ends. The mounting system also includes a mounting flange component having an inner edge defining at least in part an orifice extending through the mounting flange component and sized so that a first portion of the tubular structure including the second end can pass partly into or entirely through the orifice. When lugs of the mounting flange component are aligned with protrusions of the tubular structure and the tubular structure is positioned so that tips of the lugs are positioned between the protrusions and the first end, then the mounting flange component is secured in relation to the first flange component.

Abstract: An example HVAC system includes a furnace including a gas valve, a circulator motor to circulate air through the HVAC system, and a current sensor configured to detect a current supplied to the circulator motor. The system also includes a controller configured to disable the gas valve when a detected current supplied to the circulator motor is outside of a specified operating current range. A detected current to the circulator motor outside of the specified operating current range is indicative of a malfunction of the circulator motor. Example methods of operating a gas valve in an HVAC system are also disclosed.

Abstract: An example HVAC system includes an HVAC component, and an HVAC control configured to control the HVAC component according to an HVAC system configuration parameter. The HVAC control includes a controller wireless interface and a memory. The system also includes a mobile device having a user interface and a mobile wireless interface in wireless communication with the controller wireless interface of the HVAC control. The mobile device is configured to display the HVAC system configuration parameter on the user interface, receive user input settings for the HVAC system configuration parameter, and wirelessly transmit the received user input settings to the controller wireless interface of the HVAC control. The HVAC control is configured to store the received user input settings in the memory of the HVAC control to control the HVAC component. Example methods of controlling an HVAC system are also disclosed.

Abstract: A method of controlling an HVAC system including a motor having five taps, an HVAC controller connected to the motor, and a mobile device includes receiving user input identification of the motor on a user interface of the mobile device. A plurality of operating conditions and more than five speed settings available for the identified motor are displayed on the user interface. The method includes receiving from the user a selected speed of the speed settings for a first operating condition of the plurality of operating conditions, and transmitting the selected speed and the associated first operating condition to the HVAC controller for use in controlling a speed of the motor during the plurality of operating conditions.

Abstract: A faucet apparatus and method of implementing a faucet apparatus are disclosed herein. In an example embodiment, the apparatus includes a body integrated or coupled to a base, where the body includes surfaces within which are formed first and second orifices that respectively extend inward into the body along first and second axes, respectively. A first cross-section of the first orifice taken perpendicular to the first axis has a first size and a first shape that are, respectively, substantially identical to a second size and a second shape of a second cross-section of the second orifice taken perpendicular to the second axis. The apparatus also includes a spout having a first end supported within the first orifice, and a sensor structure having a cross-sectional surface supported within the second orifice, where each of the first end and cross-sectional surface is configured to fit complementarily within either of the orifices.
