Abstract:
A method and system of enabling communication between peers in a peer-to-peer (P2P) network in the presence of network address translators (NAT). The method includes: assigning a unique peer identifier to each one of the plurality of peers in the P2P network; establishing an overlay topology connecting each peer to a subset of the plurality of peers in a structured connection pattern based on the unique peer identifier of each peer, each one of the plurality of peers having more connections to close peers and fewer connections to distant peers; and routing messages between peers through the established overlay topology.
Abstract:
Briefly, the present invention relates, in one embodiment, to a gasket for sealing a filter housing to a filter mount. The gasket may have an upper body and a lower body which seals between the filter housing and filter head. The gasket may include chamfered surfaces to allow for properly sealing against manufacturing tolerances, and may include an annular groove which receives the filter housing and stabilizes the gasket during installation.
Abstract:
The system and method detect and properly handle a glare condition in a SIP communication session. A glare condition is where a communication device has two concurrent outstanding requests (typically an incoming and an outgoing request that have not be acknowledged) and needs to process one of the requests before processing the other request. To detect a glare condition, the system and method identify that an out-of-dialog SIP request is received while an outgoing SIP request is pending. In response to detecting the glare condition, a glare algorithm is initiated. The glare algorithm ensures that outstanding requests will be handled in a timely manner.
Abstract:
A joining peer is bootstrapped into in a peer-to-peer (P2P) network in the presence of network address translators (NAT). A bootstrap peer is contact by the joining peer to establish a connection between the joining peer and an admitting peer in the peer-to-peer network. The joining peer receives an indication from the bootstrap peer that the connection between the joining peer and the admitting peer has been established with a message path through the bootstrap peer. The indication includes contact information for the admitting peer. The connection is them modified to remove all proxies therefrom.
Abstract:
A gate valve includes a pair of opposing housing members, a gate, primary sealing sleeves and a secondary sealing member. The primary sealing sleeves are disposed in each of the housing members. The gate is configured to slidably pass through a transverse gate chamber defined when the housing members are joined together. The secondary sealing member is secured between the housing members and includes at least one passage or aperture configured to allow lubricating fluid to be applied through at least one of the housing members through the secondary sealing member and onto the gate.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a modified porphyrin-based oxygen-carrying protein, such as haemoglobin, which has been found, in its unmodified state to have a low affinity site of electron transfer and a high affinity electron transfer between a reductant and ferryl haem iron via one or more protein amino acids. The invention provides such proteins that comprise a modification to enhance this pathway.
Abstract:
A method of determining connectivity between two endpoints in a communications network is described. The method includes identifying transport addresses associated with each of the two endpoints and determining pairs of the transport addresses identifying a transmission path between the two endpoints. The method then proceeds to determining, at each endpoint, which of the pairs of transport addresses identifies a unique transmission path; and then performing connectivity checks at each endpoint for each pair identifying a unique transmission path.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for conditioning a polishing pad used in chemical mechanical planarization of semiconductor wafers is described. The apparatus includes a non-rotatable conditioning member configured to engage the polishing pad. The conditioning member includes a primary edge opposed to a secondary edge. The method includes providing a non-rotatable conditioning member configured to engage the polishing pad. The conditioning member includes a primary edge opposed to a secondary edge, wherein the primary edge and the secondary edge are both in contact with the polishing pad, and wherein the primary edge is generally parallel to the secondary edge. The method also includes moving the polishing pad in a forward direction, and pressing the conditioning member against the polishing pad.
Abstract:
A new pneumatic torso armor and helmet for creating a visual display on a wearer for use at sporting events. The inventive device includes an inflatable body portion comprised of a front panel, a back panel, and a pair of shoulder panels. The front panel has a chest portion and an abdominal portion. A side of the front panel has an inflation tube extending outwardly therefrom. The front panel has couplers extending outwardly of lower side edges thereof. The back panel has corresponding couplers extending outwardly of lower side edges thereof for mating with the straps of the front panel. The shoulder panels have opposed lateral edges each having corresponding couplers disposed thereon for engaging the shoulder panels to a wearer.
