摘要: An operation control method of a refrigerator including a main body defining a freezing compartment and a refrigerating compartment, an evaporator cooling the freezing compartment and the refrigerating compartment, a heater defrosting the evaporator, and a plurality of blowing fans respectively corresponding to the freezing compartment and the refrigerating compartment. The method includes setting a heater operation temperature less than a control temperature of the refrigerating compartment; measuring a temperature of air surrounding the refrigerator; measuring an inside temperature of the refrigerating compartment; and operating the heater and the blowing fan corresponding to the refrigerating compartment when the measured temperature of the surrounding air is less than a set reference surrounding air temperature and the measured inside temperature is less than the heater operation temperature.

摘要: A refrigerator for supplying a proper amount of water and a control method thereof. The refrigerator is optimally operated in ice-making and ice-separating modes based on the amount of water supplied for making ice cubes, and a control method thereof. The method includes the steps of (a) determining whether or not a proper amount of water is supplied to an ice cube tray in an earlier water supply mode; (b) maintaining the amount of the supplied water in the earlier water supply mode to the amount of the supplied water in a present water supply mode in case that the proper amount of the water is supplied to the ice cube tray in the earlier water supply mode, and resetting the amount of the supplied water in the present water supply mode by increasing the amount of the supplied water in the earlier water supply mode in case that the proper amount of the water is not supplied to the ice cube tray in the earlier water supply mode; and (c) supplying the water according to the amount of the supplied water in the present water supply mode.

The control method includes, upon receiving a power-saving signal, determining whether the received power-saving signal is a first or second power-saving mode signal, upon determining that the power-saving signal is the first power-saving mode signal, performing at least one selected from among resetting of target temperature of the storage compartment, adjustment of an operation rate of the compressor, and adjustment of operation time of the heater to execute a first power-saving mode, and, upon determining that the power-saving signal is the second power-saving mode signal, controlling the compressor, the fan, and the heater to be off to execute a second power-saving mode.

摘要: An ice making unit taking the form of a kit separably installed in a freezing compartment of a refrigerator. The ice making unit includes a water supply tank to supply water, an ice making case defining an external appearance of the ice making unit, the ice making case being formed, at an upper portion of a front surface thereof, with a water supply tank installation hole to allow the water supply tank to be slidably installed therethrough, at least one ice making tray installed in the ice making case to receive the water supplied from the water supply tank, and an ice separating device to separate ice from the ice making tray, and the water supply tank is coupled to or separated from the ice making case via forward and rearward sliding movement thereof. Supply of water into the ice making unit can be accomplished via simple coupling or separation of the water supply tank, resulting in convenient use of the ice making unit.

摘要: A refrigerator which includes a main body having a freezing compartment and a refrigerating compartment, an evaporating unit provided in the main body, and a first duct and a second duct in communication with the evaporating unit to guide cooling air generated from the evaporating unit to the freezing compartment and the refrigerating compartment of the main body, respectively, wherein the second duct is provided around a edge of a rear of the refrigerating compartment of the main body and having a cooling air supply hole to supply the cooling air to the refrigerating compartment. Thus, according to the present invention, the cooling air is supplied from the edge of the rear of the refrigerating compartment, thereby providing the duct of a simple structure and facilitating a refrigerating efficiency.

摘要: An evaporator of an ice machine operating on a typical ice-making cycle, comprising a heat-conducting metal plate member, an evaporator body formed by folding the metal plate member into a " "-shape after a refrigerant circuit including a capillary tube, refrigerant tube and evaporating tube etc., is oppositely mounted inside of the plate member, and means for fixing the evaporator body in a vertical position inside of the cabinet of an ice machine. The present invention improves productivity by resolving disadvantages such as the increase of the installation space and complex assembly. Moreover, easier and more accurate ice-separating may be attained according to the present invention.

摘要: A cool air exhaling apparatus in an enforced circulation type refrigerator and a control method thereof having a simple configuration so as to reduce manufacturing costs and to improve productivity, as well as freezing and refrigerating efficiency of foods. The cool air exhaling apparatus in an enforced circulation type refrigerator in which a cool air cooled by an evaporator is guided to a duct by operating a cool air circulating fan and is exhaled into the refrigerator through a cool air exhaling hollow formed in a duct cover, includes at least one cool air guide formed protrusively at the front of a duct cover in a width direction of the refrigerator, having a cool air exhaling hollow in its inner sidewall, and a duct thermal insulation material in which a cool air guide hollow having a convex curved side portion connected to the inner sidewall of the cool air guide is formed in sides of the duct cover. The cool air flows desirably along the cool air guide hollow without any separation and goes down in the vertical direction at the front of the shelf so as to form an air curtain. Thus, the cool air rarely flows outside even if the door is open, when operating the cool air circulating fan.
