摘要： The invention relates to a process for making modified polybutylene terephthalate random copolymers from a polyethylene terephthalate component. In one embodiment, the invention relates to a two step process in which a 1,4-butane diol component reacts with a polyethylene terephthalate component under conditions that depolymerize the polyethylene terephthalate component into a molten mixture and the molten mixture is placed under subatmospheric conditions that produce the modified polybutylene terephthalate random copolymers. In another embodiment, the invention relates to a three step process in which a diol component selected from the group consisting of ethylene glycol, propylene glycol, and combinations thereof reacts with a polyethylene terephthalate component under conditions sufficient to depolymerize the polyethylene terephthalate component into a first molten mixture; and where the first molten mixture is combined with 1,4-butane diol under conditions that create a second molten mixture that is subsequently placed under subatmospheric conditions that produce the modified polybutylene terephthalate random copolymers. The invention also relates to compositions made from processes of the invention.

摘要： The invention relates to a composition comprising a modified, random copolyetherester containing a modified, random polybutylene terephthalate copolymer block that is derived from a polyethylene terephthalate component selected from the group consisting of polyethylene terephthalate and polyethylene terephthalate copolymers and combinations thereof; and contains at least one residue derived from the polyethylene terephthalate component; and a polyalkylene oxide copolymer block that is derived from a polyethylene terephthalate component and polyalkylene oxide glycol, and contains polyalkylene oxide and at least one residue derived from the polyethylene terephthalate component. Advantageously, the composition has a modulus of elasticity that is at least 80%, as compared to the modulus of elasticity of a copolyetherester derived from (1) polybutylene terephthalate derived from a monomer component selected from the group consisting of terephthalic acid, isophthalic acid, alkyl esters of terephthalic acid, hydroalkyl esters of terephthalic acid, alkyl esters of isophthalic acid, 1, 4-butanediol, (2) polyalkylene oxide glycol, and (3) combinations thereof. The invention also relates to articles made from the composition, methods of making the composition. The invention also relates to copolyetherester containing: a modified, random polytrimethylene terephthalate copolymer blocks, articles made from the compositions, and methods for making such materials.

A carriage assembly is adapted to engage and hold a log generally parallel to the table assembly. A drive assembly is configured to reciprocate the carriage assembly between a cutting stroke and a return stroke. During the cutting stroke, the log is passed over the blade to longitudinally cut a slice of veneer from the log. Disclosed is a method for manufacturing veneer. At least one log is received on a table assembly. The log is engaged by a carriage assembly. The log dwells in a ready position on a heated portion of the surface. The carriage assembly is moved to pass the log longitudinally over a blade supported on the table assembly to cut a slice of veneer.

摘要： An improved method for placing the work point of a work piece in alignment with a line of action of a bonding tool is provided by interposing a partially reflecting mirror between a viewing microscope and the line of action of the tool, and projecting a target image on said mirror such that the image coincides with the line of sight to the work point of the tool.The method can be practiced with an apparatus attached to the output end of a microscope and which includes an image projector formed by a light source and a transparency. Provision is made for moving the transparency to an effective distance from the mirror corresponding to the distance from the mirror to the work piece whereby the image will appear to be superimposed on the work piece notwithstanding that the degree of illumination of the work piece exceeds the level of target image illumination.
