摘要: A thermally expandable composition, including at least one polymer, cross-linkable by peroxide, at least one peroxide, preferably at least one antioxidant, at least one chemical blowing agent, and at least one activator, wherein the activator includes at least one compound selected from formula (I), wherein radicals R1 and R4 represent hydrogen atoms or monovalent alkyl radicals with 1 to 10 carbon atoms which optionally include oxygen atoms; R2 and R3 represent hydrogen atoms or monovalent alkyl radicals with 1 to 10 carbon atoms which optionally include oxygen atoms, nitrogen atoms, and/or aromatic moieties or R2 and R3 together form a divalent alkyl radical with 1 to 10 carbon atoms which optionally includes oxygen atoms, nitrogen atoms or aromatic moieties. The composition shows excellent properties in terms of expansion stability over a wide temperature range, can be expanded at temperatures below 150° C. and is suitable for baffle and/or reinforcement elements.

摘要: The invention concerns a heat-sealable biodegradable packaging material, which comprises a fibrous substrate (1) and one or more polymer coating layers (2) extruded onto said substrate. According to the invention the packaging material includes at least one polymer coating layer (2) containing at least 70 weight-% of polylactide (PLA) and at least 5 weight-% of polybutylene succinate (PBS) or its derivate blended therewith. Optionally an acryl copolymer such as ethylene butyl acrylate glycidyl methacrylate terpolymer (EBAGMA) may be included in the polymer blend. The invention further concerns a heat-sealed container, such as a disposable drinking cup, and a heat-sealed product package made from the packaging material, as well as uses of PBS or its derivates as blends with PLA in extrusion coating, for improving adhesivity of the coating to the fibrous substrate and reduced raw edge penetration to the packaging material, especially penetration of hot coffee held in the drinking cup.

This polyester resin composition contains the following: a polyester resin (A) that has a melting point or glass transition temperature of at least 250° C.; a thermoplastic resin (B) that has an olefin-derived constitutional unit and an aromatic hydrocarbon structure and has an intrinsic viscosity ([η]), as measured in decalin at 135° C., of 0.04 to 1.0 dl/g; and a copolymer (C) that has an olefin-derived constitutional unit, an α,β-unsaturated-carboxylic-ester-derived constitutional unit, and a cyclic oxy-hydrocarbon structure.

摘要: Provided is an air permeation resistant film in which flexibility can be imparted to the film without remarkably increasing the proportion of a rubber constituting a dispersed phase. An air permeation resistant film comprising (A) a thermoplastic polyester elastomer which comprises a block copolymer containing a polyester as a hard segment and has a melting point of from 180 to 230° C., and (B) a rubber, in a mass ratio (A)/(B) of from 90/10 to 40/60, wherein the component (A) and the component (B) are melt-kneaded to perform dynamic crosslink, thereby forming a continuous phase composed of the component (A) and a dispersed phase composed of the component (B), and the film has an air permeation coefficient at 80° C. of 5×1013 fm2/Pa·s or less and Young's modulus of 120 MPa or less.

摘要: Polymeric blends having improved flame retardance properties and good ductility at low temperatures are disclosed. The blend is formed from (A) a photoactive additive containing a photoactive group derived from a monofunctional benzophenone; and (B) a polymer resin which is different from the photoactive additive. The additive can be a compound, oligomer, or polymer. When exposed to ultraviolet light, crosslinking will occur between the photoactive additive and the polymer resin, enhancing the chemical resistance and flame retardance while maintaining ductility.
