Abstract:
In a method for downloading subscription information to an identification unit connected to a wireless communication device operating within a cellular network, which includes at least one packet gateway node and a remote provisioning server being connected to it, the wireless communication device operates in a mode with limited access to the remote provisioning server. The method includes submitting a request comprising an authentication identifier and access information relating to one remote provisioning server from the identification unit on an assigned communication channel to the cellular network, forwarding at the cellular network said request using a connection tunnel preconfigured according to said access information from the packet gateway node to the remote provisioning server addressed by said access information, and providing a response message comprising data relative to subscription information through said preconfigured connection tunnel to the identification unit, when subscription information is detected.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a wireless communication device (UE) configured to be operating in a wireless cellular network supporting a wireless technology standard. For solving the problem of blockage of the UE in regards with one cellular network the UE makes a comparison of communication conditions in downlink and in uplink in order to detect unbalanced communication conditions between downlink and uplink channels and, in case downlink communication conditions are acceptable, but uplink communication conditions show a degradation, initiate an inter-RAT reselection.
Abstract:
An application device exchanges application data via a cellular radio communication network with an application server. The application device has a memory providing write access for a control entity associated with the network. The application device receives an information element from a network management node operated by the control entity. The information element is indicative of regulation information that defines at least one time span or point in time that can be used for transmission of application exchange data between the application device and the application server. The application device receives an instruction from the network management node to store the regulation information in the device memory, and stores the regulation information. The application device subsequently initiates transmission of the application exchange data between the application device and the application server only at an allowed time that is in accordance with the stored regulation information.
Abstract:
A method of operating a mobile radio communication terminal, in which execution of at least one step of the method is controlled according to a device parameter which is assigned to the mobile radio communication terminal and which has exactly one of two possible device parameter values which indicate whether the mobile radio communication terminal is permanently stationary or not permanently stationary.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method of operating a module 100 or the like wireless communication terminal for wireless communication, wherein in operation the module 100 is in signaling relation to a device 3 of an integrated circuit card, wherein the operation is adapted for signaling between the module 100 and the integrated circuit card device 3 (ICC-device) via an interface system 10, the interface system 10 comprising at least one command interface instance 10.0, 10.1, 10.2, 10.3 adapted for direct command signaling between the module 100 and at least one application 1, 2, and a card application toolkit 80 (CAT) for direct command signaling between the module 100 and the integrated circuit card device 3 (ICC-device).
Abstract:
The invention relates to a radio device, comprising: a communication unit, which is configured to communicate with an allocated access-cell node of an access cell of a cellular radio access network; a transmission scheduling unit, which is configured to initiate transmissions of application data between the radio device and the access-cell node in accordance with a predetermined application transmission schedule defining at least one allowed transmission time span, in terms of a week, a day or a time of day for the transmission of the application data, to select a point in time for initiating the transmission of the application data within the respective current allowed transmission time span in dependence on a traffic condition to be fulfilled.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for controlling at least one measurements by a base node of a cellular network, the base node serving at least one low-capability wireless terminal in an open connection in coverage enhancement mode, the method comprising the steps of: determining the coverage enhancement level of said wireless terminal, estimating a measurement time for carrying out said at least one measurement taking into account said coverage enhancement level, sending a measurement request message in conjunction with a suspend connection message to the wireless terminal, providing a resume indication to the wireless terminal considering said estimated measurement time, and retrieving at least one measurement response message from the wireless terminal comprising the at least one requested measurement.
Abstract:
A method for operating a wireless communication device in association with a first base station comprises: determining further suitable base stations. In case at least one suitable second base station characteristically different from the first base station is found, checking if a cell identifier of the second base station is listed in a neighbor cell list received from the first base station, and checking signaling power of the second base station. The second base station is rated as a fake base station if measured signaling power is significantly higher than the signaling power of the first base station, and the cell identifier of the second base station is not listed in the neighbor cell list. If the rating of the second base station as a fake base station is above a predetermined threshold: deleting second base station from a list of suitable base stations.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a user equipment configured to operate in a cellular network comprising a plurality of base stations, the user equipment comprising a communication unit and a control unit, wherein the communication unit is capable of operating in a specialized transmission mode with one of the plurality of base stations being capable of supporting said specialized transmission mode, in case of detection of a suitable base station, the communication unit is configured when operating in non-registered mode to: —decode an information signal received from said detected base station, the information signal indicating if said base station supports said specialized transmission mode, —camp on said base station, if said specialized transmission mode is supported, or —otherwise provide a message indicating non-support of specialized transmission mode support to the control unit.
