Abstract: A method for data transmission between a user equipment operating in a cellular network, and a control terminal accessible from the cellular network. The user equipment operates in a communication connection to the control terminal by means of first and second wireless carriers, with one of the control terminal and the user equipment acting as transmitting apparatus, and the other as receiving apparatus. The transmitting apparatus sends content as a first data packet over the first wireless carrier and as a second data packet over the second wireless carrier. The receiving apparatus attempts to receive the first data packet over the first wireless carrier and the second data packet over the second wireless carrier, and sends over the first and second wireless carriers a message indicating whether at least one of the first and second data packet was successfully received.

Abstract: User equipment communicates by means of a primary base node and at least one secondary base node of a cellular network that are respectively assigned to different radio access networks. The user equipment sends a first message comprising its available capabilities to the primary base node, and receives a first indication from the primary base node relating to the capabilities being used by the primary base node. It sends a second message to the secondary base node, comprising those capabilities not being used by the primary base node. and receives a second indication from the secondary base node relating to the capabilities being used by the secondary base node. It sends a third message with still unused capabilities to the primary base node. and initiates a communication link with a remote terminal by means of the primary and the secondary base nodes using the configured capabilities.

Abstract: A method for operating a wireless communication device comprising a communication unit comprising a radio mode decision unit and a transceiver unit, the radio mode decision unit further maintaining a set of network operation modes, the wireless communication device further comprising a controlling appliance, interconnected with the communication unit by means of a command interface. The communication unit ascertains at least one communication behavior parameterization conforming to a preconfigured communication behavior demand of a cellular network1 The controlling appliance submits a transport template dataset comprising a data element relating to an envisaged communication behavior to the communication unit by means of the command interface. The radio mode decision unit determines, for an imminent data exchange session of the wireless communication device with the cellular network by means of the transceiver unit, one of said network operation modes by taking into account said communication behavior parameterization and said transport template dataset.

Abstract: A method for downloading subscription information to an identification unit connected to a wireless communication device operating within a cellular network having at least one packet gateway node. A remote provisioning server is connected to the packet gateway node. The wireless communication device comprises basic packet based communication protocol means, and operates in a mode with limited access to the remote provisioning server within the cellular network. The identification unit comprises a controller having advanced packet based communication protocol means by using said basic packet based communication protocol means provided by the wireless communication device. The method comprises submitting a request from the identification unit to the cellular network, by means of said advanced packet based communication protocol means, upon reception of a response message from the cellular network, creating based on received data relative to subscription information, an identity record, and storing said identity record in the identification unit.

Abstract: A method for handling of a jamming condition affecting a wireless device operating in normal coverage mode includes: determining a base station supporting enhanced coverage mode, providing signals sufficient for decoding in enhanced coverage mode, receiving enhanced coverage system information from said enhanced coverage base station, storing data relating to received enhanced coverage system information broadcast and/or the enhanced coverage base station, in case of detection of a jamming condition affecting signals from the current base station: checking ability to decode signals from said enhanced coverage base station indicated by said stored data, in case downlink signals of said enhanced coverage base station are decodable in enhanced coverage, starting operation with said enhanced coverage base station in enhanced coverage mode, and sending a jamming indication message to a remote server accessible via the cellular network by means of said enhanced coverage base station.
