摘要： To provide a portable type information apparatus having a suspend/resume key capable of minimizing a risk of unintentional erroneous key operations, for example, when the apparatus is transported, which is excellent in visibility and operability. The apparatus includes a lower housing 5 having a keyboard 3 and an upper housing 9 coupled to the lower housing 5 to be folded onto the upper surface of the lower housing 5, wherein a suspend/resume key 21 is provided substantially at a central position of the innermost zone of the upper surface of the lower housing relative to the keyboard, so that an unintentional operation of the suspend/resume key 21 is minimized. A state-displaying section 31 for displaying various operation states is located in the upper housing 9 to confront the suspend/resume key 21 when the upper housing 9 is folded, which state-displaying section 31 is provided at a level lower by an amount corresponding to the projecting amount of the suspend/resume key 21 than the upper surface of the upper housing.

When an expended device is received in the expanded device receiving part, the expanded device is held between the interface unit and the side face of the main body.

摘要： A backlight device for a transmissive liquid crystal display device includes a plurality of light sources, including a cold cathode fluorescent lamp and an LED, a liquid crystal panel, and a light guide plate. The light guide plate causes light entering into it through one surface thereof to emerge out of another surface thereof toward the liquid crystal panel. A controller for the backlight device selects at least one of the cold cathode fluorescent lamp and LED, depending on brightness required for the liquid crystal display device and determines, in accordance with the required brightness, the brightness of the selected light source to operate the light source accordingly.

A rescue bus is connected to units in a multiple formation and is used for rescue from a fault. A rescue bus connecting switch connects the line and the rescue bus when the fault has occurred. A rescue switch connects the rescue bus and a backup signal processing part that processes the signal instead of a faulty unit. A rescue unit includes a switch part made up of the above switches and the backup signal processing part, and performs a complete rescue or a provisional rescue. A monitor control device monitors fault occurrence and controls the switch part.

摘要： A keyboard including a housing unit for slidably supporting a key top; and a support panel unit carrying a switch to be operated by the key top. The housing unit can move between a first position apart from the support panel unit and a second position close to the the support panel unit, and the first position is such that the key top vertically shifting from but confronting the switch, when pressed, can operate the switch, and the second position is such that the key top being horizontally deviated from the switch, even if pressed, cannot operate the switch. The housing panel may support the elastic member for supporting the key top upon a main surface thereof, a first horizontal end of the elastic member may be fixed to the housing panel, and a second horizontal end opposite the first end of the elastic member may be movable in the horizontal direction. A switch is vertically pushed by the key top; and a support panel may hold the switch thereon, and may support the second horizontal end of the elastic member. The support panel may slide horizontally to push the second horizontal end so that the elastic member may be elastically deformed for respective center lines of the key top and the switch to substantially align each other.

摘要： A key touch adjusting device wherein the position of a key top is detected, and a resistive force corresponding to that position is generated and applied to the key top. The numeral array for the position data and the force data is stored in a memory. To apply hysteresis to a key force profile curve, a RS flip-flop whose output is inverted by the position data is provided to generate different resistive forces in the key top depressing process and the key top returning process. Also disclosed are a method of comparing an actually obtained profile curve with a predetermined profile curve on a display device by detecting both the position of the key top and the depressing force thereof, a method of achieving hysteresis characteristics by storing a plurality of numeral arrays of the depressing force vs. the displacement in a memory of a control computer beforehand and by changing the numeral array according to the position of the key top, a mechanism for restricting a range in which the key top is displaced, and a method of generating an on/off signal corresponding to the position of the key top without using an electrical contact.

摘要： An electronic mail processing device includes a magnetic disk with a control table. The device establishes a line between an originating terminal and a destination terminal designated by the originating terminal as a destination of electronic mail information and enters the destination into the control table provided on the magnetic disk as a wrong destination when the destination terminal performs no prescribed response operation to receive the electronic mail information. No electronic mail information is delivered to any of destinations entered into the control table. Thereby, once a destination is stored in the control table, a line is never connected to the destination terminal again, which prevents repeated wrong calls from being made to the same terminal.
