摘要: A method for operating a regenerative heater including a first chamber and a second chamber, the first chamber having a burner arranged therein, the second chamber having heat storage means; the method including: a heating cycle where fuel and oxidizing gas are fed to the burner of the first chamber and allowed to burn and where hot flue gasses are led through the second chamber to heat the heat storage means; and a blowing cycle where a process gas is fed through the second chamber to pick up heat from the heat storage means where the heating cycle includes the following steps: feeding a first stream of fuel to the burner of the regenerative heater; feeding a second stream of fuel to a pre-combustion chamber; feeding oxygen to the pre-combustion chamber; allowing the second stream of fuel and the oxygen to interact so as to form oxidizing gas; feeding the oxidizing gas to the burner of the regenerative heater, where, at the end of the heating cycle, the supply of oxygen to the pre-combustion chamber is discontinued, while further feeding the second stream of fuel to the pre-combustion chamber and further feeding the first stream of fuel to the burner.

摘要: The present invention proposes a method for feeding hot gas to a shaft furnace (12), wherein the method comprises feeding a first portion (32) of a first gas flow (24) to a mixing chamber (36) and feeding a second portion (34) of the first gas flow (24) into said shaft furnace. The method further comprises feeding a second gas flow (28) to the mixing chamber (36), allowing the first portion (32) of the first gas flow (24) to mix with the second gas flow (28) in the mixing chamber (36), thereby forming a third gas flow (38), and feeding the third gas flow (38) to the shaft furnace (12). The first gas flow (24) has a first volumetric fluid flow rate (V1), a first temperature (T1) and a first pressure (p1); the second gas flow (28) has a second volumetric fluid flow rate (V2), a second temperature (T2) and a second pressure (p2); and the third gas flow (38) has a third volumetric fluid flow rate (V3), a third temperature (T3) and a third pressure (p3). According to an important aspect of the present invention, the first temperature (T1) is higher than the second temperature (T2) and the first pressure (p1) is lower than the second pressure (p2) and the third temperature (T3) is regulated by controlling the second pressure (p2).

摘要: A method for operating a blast furnace and a corresponding blast furnace, the method including recovering top gas from the blast furnace, submitting at least a portion of the top gas to a recycling process, and feeding the recycled top gas back into the blast furnace, where the recycling process includes feeding the recovered top gas to a reformer unit, feeding volatile carbon containing material to the reformer unit, proceeding to flash gasification of the volatile carbon containing material in the reformer unit, at a temperature between 1100 and 1300° C., and thereby producing devolatized carbonaceous material and synthesis gas, and allowing the devolatized carbonaceous material and synthesis gas to react with the recovered top gas.

摘要: The present invention proposes a method for feeding a burden to a blast furnace (32), wherein the method comprises providing a charging device (38) having at least one material hopper (40), the material hopper (40) comprising a hopper chamber (42), a material inlet aperture for feeding a burden into the hopper chamber (40), and a material discharge aperture for feeding a burden from the hopper chamber (40) to the blast furnace (32); the material inlet aperture having an associated inlet seal valve 44) for opening and closing the material inlet aperture and the material discharge aperture having an associated material discharge valve (46) for opening and closing the material discharge aperture. The method further comprises opening the material inlet aperture and closing the material discharge aperture; feeding a burden into the hopper chamber (40) through the material inlet aperture; closing the inlet seal valve (44); pressurizing the hopper chamber (40) by feeding pressurizing gas into the hopper chamber (40); and opening the material discharge valve (46) and feeding the burden from the hopper chamber (40) to the blast furnace (32). According to an important aspect of the invention, the method comprises feeding a predetermined amount of pressurized flushing gas through the hopper chamber (42) before pressurizing the hopper chamber (42), wherein the flushing gas comprises at least 75% carbon dioxide.

摘要: The present invention proposes a device (10) for regulating the temperature of a gas in a hot gas main for feeding hot gas to a blast furnace. Such a device (10) comprises a mixing pot (14) with a first mixing chamber (16) and a second mixing chamber (18), the first and second mixing chambers (16, 18) being in fluid communication with each other by means of a Venturi-type restriction (20). The first mixing chamber (16) is provided with a first inlet port (22) for feeding hot gas into the first mixing chamber (16), a second inlet port (26) for feeding cold gas into the first mixing chamber (16) and a third inlet port (56) for feeding cold gas into the second mixing chamber (18). The first mixing chamber (16) is further provided with a first outlet port (42) for feeding a first stream of mixed gas from the first mixing chamber (16) to a first gas distribution system (46), while the second mixing chamber (18) is provided with a second outlet port (60) for feeding a second stream of mixed gas from the second mixing chamber (18) to a second gas distribution system (64). The first stream of mixed gas has a temperature different from a temperature of the second stream of mixed gas.

摘要: In a blast furnace plant, at least three regenerative heaters are cyclically operated on blast and on gas: while a regenerative heater is operated on gas, hot flue gas is produced and caused to flow through the regenerative heater so as to heat the heat storage elements; and while a regenerative heater is operated on blast, process gas, i.e. a CO-rich fraction of the top gas, is blown through the regenerative heater so that the process gas takes up heat from the heat storage elements, such that during a changeover of a regenerative heater from on-blast to on-gas operation, the regenerative heater is purged from process gas using flue gas collected after having flown through at least one of the regenerative heaters.

摘要: Tuyere stock arrangement of a blast furnace includes a tuyere body configured for installation in a shaft furnace wall. The tuyere body includes a front face facing an interior of the shaft furnace and an opposite rear face and a tuyere channel extending between the rear and front faces (24). The stock arrangement includes a blowpipe between the rear face and a hot blast air supply system, the blowpipe having a front portion connecting to the tuyere body and an opposite rear portion connecting to the hot blast air supply system. A fuel injection lance is arranged through the tuyere body and feeds fuel into the shaft furnace. A gas injection lance feeds an oxidizing gas to the shaft furnace and is arranged in the rear portion of the blowpipe to feed oxidizing gas into a central portion of a stream of hot blast air fed through the blowpipe.

摘要: There is provided a bustle pipe arrangement of a shaft furnace that comprises a circumferential bustle pipe arranged along the outer casing of the shaft furnace, the bustle pipe being arranged at a certain distance from the outer casing. The arrangement further comprises a plurality of first arms connecting the bustle pipe to the outer casing of the shaft furnace on a first level; and a plurality of second arms connecting the bustle pipe to the outer casing of the shaft furnace on a second level, the first level being different from the second level. First and second blow channels are respectively arranged through the first and second arms for fluidly connecting the bustle pipe to the interior of the shaft furnace.

According to an important aspect of the invention, the method further comprises subjecting at least a portion of a top gas recovered from the blast furnace (32) to a recycling process wherein carbon dioxide is removed from the recovered top gas; and feeding at least a portion of the recovered carbon dioxide as pressurizing gas into the hopper chamber (40) for pressurizing the hopper chamber (40).
