    摘要: A discharge lamp ballast is provided for powering a discharge lamp with feedback filament heating control. A startup circuit is coupled between output terminals of a DC-AC power converter together with a discharge lamp. A lamp current detection circuit and a lamp voltage detection circuit detect output signals to the lamp. A control circuit controls the switching elements and generates an operating frequency in accordance with a startup operation to generate a high voltage output from the startup circuit and ignite the discharge lamp, a filament heating operation wherein the operating frequency is controlled so as to set the amplitude of the output current detected by the lamp current detection circuit to a target current amplitude based on the amplitude of the output voltage detected by the lamp voltage detection circuit, and a steady-state operation wherein the operating frequency is decreased to maintain a stable light output from the discharge lamp.

    摘要: A lamp ballast is provided requiring less size and cost for powering a discharge lamp. An inverter circuit converts a DC voltage from a DC power source into a voltage having a determined frequency, and supplies the converted voltage to the discharge lamp inserted between a pair of output ends of the inverter. A resonant circuit includes an auto-transformer and a resonant capacitor, and supplies an output voltage corresponding to a frequency of the rectangular wave voltage of the power supply circuit to the discharge lamp. A voltage detection circuit detects an output voltage of the resonant circuit based on a potential of the resonant capacitor. A control circuit has a startup control mode to set the frequency of the rectangular wave voltage based on the detected voltage from the voltage detection circuit, wherein the output voltage of the resonant circuit exceeds a starting voltage of the discharge lamp.

    摘要: An arrayed waveguide grating has optical input waveguides, a first slab waveguide, an arrayed waveguide comprising plural waveguides of mutually-different lengths, a second slab waveguide and plural optical output waveguides. The first slab waveguide is divided along division surfaces crossing the light path into divided slab waveguides. The divided slab waveguide is temperature-dependently moved along the division surfaces by sliding members which are formed of members exhibiting different expansion/contraction corresponding to temperature change. The sliding members are configured to move the divided slab waveguide in their respective mutually-different temperature ranges in the operating temperature range of the arrayed waveguide grating. A sliding distance of the divided slab waveguide is used as a temperature-dependence reduction amount that varies as temperature changes so as to reduce the temperature difference of the light transmission center wavelength of the arrayed waveguide grating.

    摘要: In a chopper circuit, output power is controllable with a direct current power source as a power source, and a smoothing capacitor is connected between output terminals of the chopper circuit. A polarity inversion circuit applies an alternating voltage to a high pressure discharge lamp with a voltage across the smoothing capacitor as a power source. The output power of the chopper circuit and an inversion frequency of the polarity inversion circuit are controlled by a control circuit based upon a terminal voltage of the smoothing capacitor, which is detected by a voltage detecting circuit. In the control circuit, a switch voltage is set for defining a range of voltages detected by the voltage detecting circuit, and the inversion frequency is changed in plural stages according to the magnitude relation between the detected voltage and the switch voltage. The inversion frequency corresponding to electric power applied to the high pressure discharge lamp is set with respect to each range of lamp voltages, to thereby inhibit occurrence of an arc jump.

    摘要: A fuel cell system is described that enables discharge of moisture generated by the fuel cell system based on pressure differences between components of the fuel cell system. The fuel cell system includes a fuel cell that discharges oxidant offgas via a cathode discharge pipe and discharges fuel offgas and moisture to an anode drain opening that in turn discharges the fuel offgas and the moisture to a gas-liquid separator via an anode drainpipe. A throttle valve establishes a pressure difference downstream within the anode drainpipe to enable movement of the fuel offgas and the moisture from the anode drain opening to a lower pressure area of the gas-liquid separator. In addition, the pressure difference enables the fuel offgas to flow from the gas-liquid separator to the cathode discharge pipe through the throttle valve.

The steering angle control operates a drive mechanism based on a steering angle and a speed of a vehicle to control a headlamp's swivel angle. The navigation-cooperative control operates the drive mechanism using a navigation unit to control the swivel angle. When a current position of the vehicle reaches an entry control start point, the control unit starts navigation-cooperative control at the entry into a curved road. The control unit finds a target swivel angle based on a curvature radius and curved road direction information about the curved road. While the vehicle moves from the entry control start point to a curved road start point, the control unit operates the drive mechanism to gradually change the headlamp's swivel angle to the target swivel angle.
