Abstract: The invention provides a Low-voltage Differential Signaling (LVDS) receiver circuit that comprises a folded-cascode operational transconductance amplifier (OTA) that includes a pair of input branches and a pair of output branches. The pair of input branches of the folded-cascode OTA includes a p-channel metal-oxide semiconductor (PMOS) input transistor pair connected to a first supply voltage domain. The pair of output branches includes an output circuit connected to a second supply voltage domain. The LVDS receiver circuit further includes a common-mode feedback circuit connected to the pair of output branches of the folded-cascode OTA that controls the second supply voltage domain. The LVDS receiver circuit further includes a regenerative buffer circuit connected to the pair of output branches of the folded-cascode OTA and an output generated from the pair of output branches of the folded-cascode OTA directly operates the regenerative buffer circuit to produce a distortion-free output signal.

Abstract: A TiO2-graphene-silver hybrid nanocomposite and a method of preparing the TiO2-graphene-silver hybrid nanocomposite is disclosed. The TiO2-graphene-silver hybrid nanocomposite at an average particle size ranging from 12-15 nanometers and having a surface area of 140.5 m2/g includes titanium oxide, graphene oxide and silver, the silver ranging from about 2 weight % to 10 weight %. The method of preparation includes introducing sol gel to a microwave irradiation to prepare an irradiated sample of TiO2-graphene oxide sample, wherein the sol gel includes TiO2 containing gel along with graphene containing sol, followed by adding AgNO3 solution to the TiO2-graphene oxide sample for preparing a TiO2-graphene-silver hybrid suspension. The TiO2-graphene-silver hybrid suspension undergoes microwave irradiation to prepare dried TiO2-graphene-silver hybrid composite.

Abstract: A disposable screen-printed microchip based on an organic membrane sensitive layer is presented. The microchip is highly responsive for the determination of Lead(II). The microchip is composed of a composite sensitive material which comprises carbon nano-tubes “CNTs” and titanium (IV) oxide nano-particles embedded in a PVC membrane which was deposited on the surface of a plastic screen printed micro-electrode using a new methodology. The prepared disposable microchip provides a linear response for Pb2+ ions covering the concentration range of 1×10−6 to 1×10−1 mole L−1 with high sensitivity (49 mV), a long life span (>4 months) and short response time (10 s). The merits offered by the micro-sensor or microchip include small size, simple fabrication, mass production, integration feasibility and cost effectiveness and automation.

Abstract: A well-bore monitoring process involving logging the temperature of a soil, rock, and brine mixture present in a carbonate formation continuously, and simultaneously logging the resistivity of the soil, rock, and brine mixture in the carbonate formation continuously. The logged temperature and the logged resistivity are interpreted whereby concurrent events in the logged temperature and the logged resistivity identify dissolution of rock into the mixture and precipitation of scale from the mixture. The simultaneous logging of the temperature and the resistivity is conducted in a well-bore in the carbonate rock formation.

Abstract: The invention provides an application specific instruction set processor (ASIP) that uses a Very Long Instruction Word (VLIW) for simultaneously executing a plurality of operations. For simultaneously executing the plurality of operations, the ASIP processor comprises a fetching unit to fetch a long instruction word from an instruction memory unit and an instruction decoder unit that interfaces with the fetching unit and a program address counter. The instruction decoder unit decodes the long instruction word fetched from the instruction memory unit and enables a plurality of sub blocks responsible for execution of a plurality of simultaneous independent operations. The instruction decoder unit of the ASIP is capable of decoding a 32-bit instruction word and executing up to six simultaneous independent operations.

Abstract: The invention provides a method and system for routing broadcast messages by managing a plurality of observation tables in a wireless ad-hoc network having a plurality of nodes. The method includes receiving one or more broadcast messages from one or more second nodes at a first node and stores information received from the broadcast messages pertaining to the one or more second nodes in one or more observation tables at the first node. A maximum aposteriori probability of connectivity is then computed for the one or more second nodes based on the information in the one or more observation tables maintained at the first node utilizing Bayesian approach. Thereafter, the first node transmits broadcast messages to the one or more second nodes based on the maximum aposteriori probability of connectivity computed for the one or more second nodes from the first node.

Abstract: A periodically-rippled patch antenna structure with metal coated trenches only along one in-plane direction or in two perpendicular in-plane directions on a dielectric substrate and ground plane and methods of fabricating the antenna radiating elements are provided. An optional layer of oxide or nitride can be placed between the substrate and metal layers as an insulation layer. This use of trenches allows for miniaturization of the patch antenna as well as dual-band degeneracy. When a square 1D rippled patch antenna is excited by a microstrip line connected along the ripples, the effective length is longer than with a line orthogonal to the ripples enabling dual mode degeneracy and antennas working at two distinct frequencies of operation.
