The curation system may manage access to the data, even allowing a consumer to use the data as if it were their own, but may track each usage of the data to implement a payment scheme or various usage restrictions. The curation system may encrypt downstream uses of the data and operate as a digital rights management system for the data. The custodian and curation system may operate as a cloud service that may contain encrypted data from many data providers but where the data providers may individually control access to their data in a managed system at any granular level.

    摘要: Techniques are described herein for pricing access to data using contribution analysis. A user may issue a query to a store that stores data. The store may analyze a subset of the data to determine a result that is to be provided to the user in response to the query. The subset is referred to as contribution data. A data access price calculator performs a contribution analysis to determine a price to be charged to the user to access the result. The contribution analysis takes into consideration a number of rows and/or columns of data in the contribution data, a number of rows and/or columns of data in the result, functions used during the store's analysis of the contribution data, or a combination thereof. The data access price calculator may derive such information from an indicator that is received from the store and/or to some extent from the result itself.

    摘要: The subject invention pertains to data synchronization across replicas. Disclosed are systems and methods of detecting and handling constraint-based conflicts that occur during a synchronization session. In accordance with one particular aspect of the invention, name-constraint violations can be detected. These violations can be resolved by generating a single merged identity that can be utilized to refer to data units, for example on different replicas that had the same name. A property of the merged identity can be merge history, which specifies the identifiers subsumed by the merge.

    摘要: Update-delete conflicts detected during synchronization can be resolved in favor of the update or the deletion. Resolving the conflict in favor of the deletion results in the entity deleted on one replica being deleted on all selected replicas. Resolving the conflict in favor of the update results in the updated entity, which includes an entity moved from one hierarchy to another, being replicated on all selected replicas. To resolve the conflict in favor of the update, the deletion is treated as though it were reported erroneously. The deleted entity is resurrected in the form of the updated entity. Change version information is maintained in all replicas. Update-delete conflicts are resolvable in accordance with various resolution policies such as the update wins, deletion wins, changes occurring on a particular device wins, and most recent event wins, for example.

    摘要: A method of synchronizing data between multiple endpoints each storing a copy of the data in accordance with different underlying schemas. An application model that provides a logical representation of an underlying schema is extended with a synchronization model that provides a logical representation of changes made to the data. The synchronization model comprises functions that provide synchronization information on the changes in a common format. Using such synchronization information, changes in a copy of the data stored in a first underlying schema on a first endpoints are applied to another copy of the data stored in a second underlying schema on a second endpoint in synchronization relationship with the first endpoint.

    摘要: The subject disclosure relates to synchronizing among network nodes in a multi-master synchronization environment that extend a knowledge based synchronization framework to include notions of object quality. In one embodiment, additional dimension(s) are placed on a knowledge vector for a given version of an object that represent quality information for the object, which is accounted for during the synchronization process to allow nodes to decide what types of qualities of objects should be conveyed to them as part of the synchronization process. Other embodiments include tombstoning objects to avoid future synchronization with respect to same objects maintained by other nodes in the multi-master synchronization environment. Advantageously, according to the synchronization framework, endpoints can synchronize data in a way that allows a definition and consideration of quality of one or more objects of the synchronized data for purposes of a knowledge exchange.
