摘要: Disclosed herein is an image compression apparatus including: a pre-processing means for effecting preprocessing to generate color imaging signals of locations spatially equivalent to the relative locations of pixels on a color filter from color imaging signals outputted from a solid-state imaging device having the color filter having a predetermined color arrangement disposed on a light receiving surface thereof and to convert the color imaging signals into a predetermined arrangement format color by color with keeping color space of the color filter so as to generate image data groups; and an image compression means containing a frequency converting section for treating an image data group arranged in the predetermined arrangement format as one unit to compute spatial frequency components within the one unit, a quantizing section for quantizing the spatial frequency components, and a coding section for coding the quantized spatial frequency components.

摘要: An image pick-up unit inserted in the body picks up an image of the body, and transmits by radio the image to an extra-corporeal unit which is arranged outside the body. The image pick-up unit includes an image pick-up portion capturing an image, a data transmitting portion for transmitting the image obtained by the image pick-up portion to the extra-corporeal unit at a plurality of transmitting ratios, a characteristic amount detecting portion for detecting a predetermined amount of characteristics based on the image, and a determining portion for determining a valid image based on an output from the characteristic amount detecting portion. The data transmitting portion controls the data transmitting ratio in accordance with the determining result of the determining portion.

摘要: Based on an output signal of a sector mark reading circuit reading a sector mark signal representing a sector mark area, the interval in which the next sector mark signal is to be detected is anticipated, and a quasi-sector mark is generated at a time when the next sector mark is to be detected in each sector. Even if the sector mark reading fails, the sector mark will be able to be output at an accurate timing. Also, if the read sector mark signal, which is mis-detected or not, is determined, a highly reliable sector mark signal may be produced.

A drive signal generating unit generates a drive signal that drives a CMOS sensor based on a multiplication clock signal synchronized to the clock signal.

A display timing adjusting unit receives a video signal output from an endoscope at a timing based on the imaging-side synchronization signal and adjusts a synchronization timing of the received video signal to a synchronization timing based on a display-side synchronization signal.

摘要: An in vivo image pickup device that is inserted in the body cavity and generates and sends an image signal of a subject, and includes an image pickup unit that has a plurality of pixels with arrays on a light receiving surface thereof and converts a subject image formed on the light receiving surface into the image signal, a defect correcting circuit that corrects the image signal of a defective pixel of the image pickup unit, a compressing circuit that compresses the image signal from the defect correcting circuit, and a sending circuit that sends the compressed image signal. Before the compressing circuit compresses the image signal, the defective pixel is corrected, thereby preventing the danger of harmful affection to a normal pixel from the defective pixel.
