    摘要: A metal-in-gap type magnetic head apparatus in which a pair of magnetic core half bodies, comprising a metallic magnetic film containing Fe as a main component on at least one magnetic core half body, are joined. In the above mentioned structure, at least a part of the surface of a supporting base of the magnetic head comprises a material having a lower standard electrode potential than the metallic magnetic film and thereby the metallic magnetic film has a high saturation flux density. Moreover, a magnetic head apparatus and magnetic recording apparatus of the present invention can have a high reliability even in the strong corrosive environment.

    摘要: This invention provides a high sensitivity magnetic head using magneto-resistive effect elements consisting of ferromagnetic thin plates and allows construction of a high precision multi-track head by using thin film and photo-etching techniques. The magnetic head comprises a base, two flux converging cores forming a magnetic gap, a detecting portion provided between the two flux converging cores and extending at right angles to the end of the base, one end of the detecting portion being located in the neighborhood of the gap and having a smaller sectional area than the other portions, and detecting electrodes provided at the opposite ends of the detecting portion. At least one of the two cores is of a ferromagnetic material and integrally formed on the base.

    摘要: A head cleaner for a magnetic recording and/or reproducing apparatus for cleaning rotary magnetic heads. The head cleaner includes a rotary spindle rotatably mounted on a support arm movable between an operative position, in which the head cleaner is in position to clean the magnetic heads, and an inoperative position separated from the magnetic heads. The head cleaner also includes a plurality of oblong webs of non-woven fabric with or without an abrasive material coated on one surface thereof. The oblong webs of non-woven fabric are fixedly secured to the rotary spindle so as to extend radially outwardly therefrom while being spaced an equal distance from each other in a direction circumferentially thereof.

    摘要: A head cleaning device for use in a magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus comprises a cleaning roller in which a lubricant with an excellent lubricating action under low humidity conditions impregnates the soft material. This lubricant compensates for the drop in the natural lubricating action resulting from a moisture deficiency, and therefore prevents the production of seized deposits. Furthermore, the head cleaning device comprises a first cleaning portion impregnated with polymer resin and abrasive particles, and a second cleaning portion comprising only a soft material, the second cleaning portion can remove by wiping any abrasive particles or deposits left on the magnetic head surface immediately after the abrasive cleaning action of the first cleaning member.

    摘要: A magnetic head and a production method therefore in which permanent magnet films for applying a DC bias magnetic field Hd h to a magnetoresistive effect element film (MR element film) is arranged on both sides of the thickness dimension of the MR element film through at least a non-magnetic film therebetween. In making the MR element film thicker in order to reduce distortion, the DC bias magnetic field Hd b to be applied to the MR element film is also required to be increased. Unlike the prior art in which the above-mentioned requirement is met by increasing the thickness of the permanent magnet film under the thickness of the MR element film resulting in the problem of breakage of a film member above or under the thickness of the permanent magnet film, the invention further comprises a second permanent magnet film above the thickness of the MR element film without increasing the thickness of the first permanent magnet film. In the case of a magnetic head with a shield members of soft magnetic material holding the MR element film from both sides of the thickness thereof, the MR element film is made thicker to make reproduction possible without any distortion or without substantially increasing the gap. For this purpose, the MR element film is held on the sides above and under the thickness thereof by first and second permanent magnet films which in turn are held by the shield members. To minimize distribution of the MR element film, a comparatively high-temperature process after forming of the MR element film i.e., forming of the second permanent magnet film is effected at optimum temperature, and a magnetic field is applied along the magnetic easy axis of the MR element film.
