    摘要: A magnetic head and a production method therefore in which permanent magnet films for applying a DC bias magnetic field Hd h to a magnetoresistive effect element film (MR element film) is arranged on both sides of the thickness dimension of the MR element film through at least a non-magnetic film therebetween. In making the MR element film thicker in order to reduce distortion, the DC bias magnetic field Hd b to be applied to the MR element film is also required to be increased. Unlike the prior art in which the above-mentioned requirement is met by increasing the thickness of the permanent magnet film under the thickness of the MR element film resulting in the problem of breakage of a film member above or under the thickness of the permanent magnet film, the invention further comprises a second permanent magnet film above the thickness of the MR element film without increasing the thickness of the first permanent magnet film. In the case of a magnetic head with a shield members of soft magnetic material holding the MR element film from both sides of the thickness thereof, the MR element film is made thicker to make reproduction possible without any distortion or without substantially increasing the gap. For this purpose, the MR element film is held on the sides above and under the thickness thereof by first and second permanent magnet films which in turn are held by the shield members. To minimize distribution of the MR element film, a comparatively high-temperature process after forming of the MR element film i.e., forming of the second permanent magnet film is effected at optimum temperature, and a magnetic field is applied along the magnetic easy axis of the MR element film.

    摘要: A thin film magnetic head comprising a magnetic core of accumulation layers forming a magnetic circuit and including at least two layers of magnetic film with a particular magnetic characteristic. The constitution of completely covering a magnetic film with a small pattern by a magnetic film with a large pattern makes the edge part smooth because the end of the underlying magnetic film is covered with the upper magnetic film. This edge-smoothing effect appears most pronounced in a manufacturing method in which electrodeposition is used for the formation of magnetic films. By sequentially forming the magnetic films from that of a smaller pattern towards that of a larger pattern, the film formation proceeds at step parts such as end parts of the underlying magnetic films due to the levelling action which is inherent in the electrodeposition method. Such a film formation realizes extremely smooth shielding and yet the pattern formation can be carried out by a single step of photoresist coating to shorten the production process.

    摘要: A thin magnetic film is deposited over a nonmagnetic or piezoelectric substrate. When a shock wave is propagated through this substrate from its one end to the other end, the permeability of the thin magnetic film is locally increased and a portion or region having a high permeability also travels from one end to the other end of the thin magnetic film in unison with the shock wave. A magnetic core with a signal winding is disposed and magnetically coupled with the thin magnetic film. The signal can be recorded or reproduced while the recording medium is scanned.

    摘要: This invention provides a high sensitivity magnetic head using magneto-resistive effect elements consisting of ferromagnetic thin plates and allows construction of a high precision multi-track head by using thin film and photo-etching techniques. The magnetic head comprises a base, two flux converging cores forming a magnetic gap, a detecting portion provided between the two flux converging cores and extending at right angles to the end of the base, one end of the detecting portion being located in the neighborhood of the gap and having a smaller sectional area than the other portions, and detecting electrodes provided at the opposite ends of the detecting portion. At least one of the two cores is of a ferromagnetic material and integrally formed on the base.

    摘要: A perpendicular magnetic head of high recording and reproducing efficiency which integrally incorporates a step-up transformer. A main pole for picking up a reproduce magnetic flux from a recording medium and applying recording magnetic field thereto is formed of a magnetic thin film. A signal winding formed of a thin film is disposed in the immediate vicinity of the forward end of the main pole so as to have a high conversion sensitivity per turn with respect to the reproduce magnetic flux from the recording medium. The signal winding which itself constitutes a closed circuit interlinks a magnetic path of the step-up transformer, thereby forming a primary winding of the transformer. A secondary winding from which head output is taken out is wound in the magnetic path of the transformer.
