Abstract:
A manufacturing method for a high-temperature-resistant metal-packaged fiber Bragg grating sensor includes using a regenerated fiber Bragg grating obtained via high-temperature annealing as a sensitive element so that the grating will not be erased when used at high temperature. The method also includes using a magnetron sputtering method which makes an optical fiber and metal combine better to form on the surface of the optical fiber an adhesive layer and a conductive layer, thereby causing little damage to optical fiber because of the absence of the processes of coarsening, sensitization, etc. of electroless plating and the fact that the method is performed in an anhydrous environment. After magnetron sputtering, the method includes using an electroplating method to thicken and deposit a protective layer, and embedding the optical fiber in a flexible-structure metallic substrate through the electroplating method to achieve the all-metal package.
Abstract:
A gaming system for playing a wagering game includes a wager input device, a display, and a controller. The wager input device receives a wager input from a player. The display displays an arrangement of symbols including primary symbols and connector symbols, wherein at least some of the primary symbols are separated from each other and at least two primary symbols are connected with one of the connector symbols. Further, at least some of the primary symbols have corresponding awards. The controller is programmed to cause a sequential display of outcomes, which is initiated with a first primary symbol and which includes other primary symbols that are connected, via one or more of the connector symbols, to the first primary symbol. The player is provided with a payout related to the awards of the primary symbols that are part of the sequential display of outcomes.
Abstract:
A friction disc clutch utilizes different patterns and sizing of the oil dispersal grooves of interleaved toothed discs such that the removal of oil from the friction material is promoted, particularly from the disc that rotates at a lower speed.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to the technical field of performance management for IT systems. More particularly, the present invention relates to a technology of performing monitoring on demand for a complex IT system. According to one aspect of the present invention, there is provided a method of system monitoring that includes: monitoring a performance parameter of a client of the system, determining, based on the performance parameter of the client, whether to monitor a service endpoint directly called by the client, locating the service endpoint to be monitored in response to a determination to monitor the service endpoint directly called by the client, and monitoring a performance parameter of the service endpoint.
Abstract:
Systems and method are provided for conducting an auction to match an advertising payload to an available advertising impression. In the auction, a dynamic floor price is provided. The dynamic floor price provides a way for a publisher to incorporate the internal value of the available impression into the auction process, while still allowing the publisher to maximize the value of the available impression by exposing the impression to bids from outside parties. The dynamic floor price can be calculated based on both internal valuations of an available impression as well as external valuations derived from feedback from prior auctions. To facilitate determination of a dynamic floor prices, advertisers and available impressions can be categorized into various segments.
