    Abstract: A friction assembly includes a brake head including a secondary channel, a friction plate including a primary channel and adapted for assembly to the brake head, at least one connecting ring inserted into the secondary channel and establishing a connection with the primary channel when the primary channel is aligned with the secondary channel, and a connector block which is fixed on the brake head. The block has a cavity connected to a suction device, and connected to the secondary channel by a hole, and the at least one ring is removably mounted on a connecting plate, the entity formed by the connecting plate and the at least one connecting ring being removably secured to the brake head.

    Abstract: A brake motor is provided with a braking mechanism comprising: a motor cover that is provided with an outer wall which is provided such that the inner diameter of an inner peripheral portion thereof increases with proximity to one side in the axial direction from the other side; a drum member that is provided with an outer peripheral portion which is located radially inward of the inner peripheral portion of the outer wall and which faces the inner peripheral portion; and a brake shoe that is mounted on the outer peripheral portion.     Abstract: A friction clutch assembly for an automatic transmission, a friction clutch plate, and a method of forming a friction clutch plate are provided. The method includes providing a friction material layer for a face of the friction clutch plate and cutting the friction material layer with a laser beam to form a plurality of grooves within the friction material layer. In one version, a friction plate for the friction clutch assembly includes an annular core plate having first and second opposed faces and defining an outer edge and an inner edge. Friction material is affixed to at least one of the first and second opposed faces. The friction material defines a plurality of grooves within the friction material, each groove being bordered by friction material having a ridge. The cross-section of the ridge has a corner having a radius of curvature that is less than 300 microns.

    Abstract: Problem—To provide a friction plate with reduced drag torque.Solution—The friction plate is formed with oil grooves having the sectorial shapes spreading toward the inner circumference and the perimeter. The adjacent edges of the friction material segments are provided with the perimeter side vertex and the inner circumference side vertex respectively. The sectorial oil groove opening toward the perimeter side from the inner circumferential side vertexes can discharge a lube oil to the perimeter side efficiently by a centrifugal force. Also, owing to the sectorial oil groove opening toward the inner circumference side from the perimeter side vertexes, a lube oil can be made to run aground onto the friction material segments due to a centrifugal force, thus, reducing the drag torque markedly compared with the conventional plates.
