Abstract:
A tool for deburring cut edges on workpieces has a pressure body in the form of a rolling body, by means of which, as relative longitudinal movement of rolling body and workpiece takes place, pressure can be applied to the burr on the relevant cut edge in the direction towards the workpiece while the rolling body rolls along the cut edge.A machine for deburring cut edges on workpieces is provided with a tool of the above-mentioned kind.In the course of a process for deburring cut edges on workpieces, a rolling body is moved along the relevant cut edge with a rolling motion. In that movement, pressure is applied by means of the rolling body to the burr on the cut edge in the direction towards the workpiece.
Abstract:
For examining a metal sheet processing operation, a method includes scanning a detection beam along a processed metal sheet by causing a relative movement between the detection beam and the processed metal sheet, during the scanning, determining a position of an edge of the metal sheet hole by monitoring the detection beam, determining, from the determined hole edge position, a geometric configuration of the metal sheet hole, performing a comparison of the determined geometric configuration of the metal sheet hole with a corresponding desired hole configuration; and then sending a signal indicating information about the metal sheet processing operation, based upon the comparison.
Abstract:
A punching machine is provided with a tool holder for a punching tool and a die having a cutting edge which can be passed by the punching tool in a machining stroke direction and a return stroke direction. The machine includes at least one work support, supported by at least one spring element. The work support is arranged in the region of the die, and the spring force of the spring element is adjustable.
Abstract:
A workpiece being processed on a machine tool is moved by control devices to the tool head or work station of the machine mechanically or automatically. A stop defines an area around the work station from which the holding devices must be kept to prevent damage. As soon as a holding device reaches the limit of the danger zone around the tool head, it is switched into a setting releasing the workpiece and moves into a position away from the work station. The machine has a switching element connected to each holding device to be so movable, and the switching element has a switching slide which is acted on by an applied force and is supported in a first position until it abuts the stop when one slide position connects the energy source to the drive of the holding device to move it away from the stop. In another slide position, the connection to the energy source is broken and the holding device returns to the workpiece holding position.
Abstract:
A machine tool center includes a machine tool, a tool storage magazine storing a multiplicity of tools, a workpiece storage area, a robot assembly, and a control system for controlling the operation of the robot assembly and of the machine tool. The robot assembly has a telescoping arm supported on a body which is movable relative to its base, and at the outer end of the arm is a gripper member which is pivotally supported intermediate its length and includes gripping elements at each of its ends. A workpiece engageable member has grippable elements thereon which can be received in the gripper member, and the gripping member will also grip tool members for movement between the tool magazine and the machine tool. Various drive units are provided for effecting movement of the various elements of the robot body. The gripper member thus serves the dual function of engaging the tooling and of engaging the workpiece engaging member to effect movement of the workpieces from the machine tool to the storage area.

Abstract:
A mechanical bending device (8) for bending flat workpieces (6) has at least one bending tool assembly (9) which includes at least one tool part that can move by means of a bending tool drive (27). When acted on by the tool part that moves, the workpiece can be bent along a bending line (11). The movable tool part is comprised of a multiplicity of adjacent segments disposed in the direction of the bending line (11), which segments can be selectively connected to the bending tool drive (27) to provide the desired operational length for the bending tool assembly. The machine tool incorporating the mechanical bending device can also include a mechanical cutting device so that workpiece parts can be both bent and machine cut in the same machine tool.
Abstract:
A machine tool/parts sorter assembly includes a machine tool having a frame and a workstation at which multiple parts are cut from a workpiece as it is moved in a horizontal plane relative to the workstation. A sorter is coupled with the machine tool frame for separately guiding different parts to different discharge areas adjacent the machine tool. The sorter includes a guide member adjacent the workstation for receiving the parts from the workstation, a pair of spaced, downwardly inclined guide chutes for discharging parts to separate discharge areas, and an actuator for selectively moving the guide member to discharge parts thereon into the guide chutes.
