Abstract:
A modified bitumen sheet material and method for a protective moisture barrier, particularly for masonry surfaces. The sheet material has a bitumen layer modified by the addition of a minor amount of a long-chain polybutadiene-isocyanate urethane polymer and optionally, a modifying amount of a hydrocarbon oil to provide a stable, non-flow and selected tackified surface properties to the bitumen layer. The sheet material includes a releasable casting paper film on one surface of the bitumen layer, to be removed prior to use, and a cross-linked polyethylene film bonded to the other outer surface of the bitumen layer as a handling or moisture barrier sheet. The sheet material is prepared by casting the hot, melted bitumen as a layer onto a casting paper sheet and applying the outer film to the exposed bitumen surface to bond to the top surface.
Abstract:
A golf ball with improved distance is disclosed. The golf ball has a relatively low spin velocity coupled with a particular dimple number, diameter, depth and arrangement. The ball is characterized by a lower flight trajectory and longer total distance. The golf ball has 384 dimples .+-.3% and the dimples preferably have an average diameter of 0.145-0.155 inches and an average depth of 0.0103-0.0123 inches. The golf ball core can be either thread wound or solid. The cover can be transpolyisoprene or an ionomer.The materials of the core and cover are selected so that the golf ball has a spin velocity below 2900 rpm when hit at 230 feet per second by an implement having a face angle of 13.degree. with respect to the vertical. Abstract:
A solid golf ball is made using zinc diacrylate to crosslink polybutadiene. A small amount of zinc dimethacrylate is added and results in a golf ball of higher initial velocity. The amount of zinc dimethacrylate is between 0.1% to 2.0% by weight of the combined total of zinc diacrylate and zinc dimethacrylate. The golf ball product is suitably a one piece golf ball or the core of a two piece golf ball.

The intumescent particles may also be complexed with additional agents, such as antimicrobial agents, softening agents, pliability agent, stain resistant agents, waterproofing agents, static resistance agents and combinations thereof.

Mechanical fasteners having parallel barbs extending vertically from a horizontal planar member to secure layers of a floor covering. When interposed between floor covering layers the barbs penetrate and anchor into a floor covering material. When a consumer desires to separate the layers, and to replace or recycle one or all the layers of the floor covering, he can do so readily by pulling the layers apart, and then securing new layers together with the mechanical fastener.

An improved colored golf ball is disclosed. The golf ball is made with a fluorescent coloring. In order to improve durability and give very pleasing aesthetics, the fluorescent coloring is blended into the cover stock. The name and/or number preferably are stamped directly onto the core for surprisingly superior durability. The cover stock can suitably be a clear ionomer resin and for highest gloss a clear final coating can be applied. If the name or trademark is stamped directly onto the core, it is visible through the clear cover. A UV stabilizer may be included. If a dye is used, it is preferred that it be 0.01-0.4% by weight of the cover and if a pigment is used the preferred range is 0.5-6% by weight of the cover.

A process of making a superior solid golf ball is disclosed. Two free radical initiators having different reactivities are used. A surprising and unexpected increase in initial velocity is obtained.
Abstract:
A radio antenna is made of conductive rubber. Uncured rubber is doped with conductive high structure carbon black in proportions greater than normally required to attain the desired volume resistivity. The doped rubber is milled at high shear until the standard deviation of volume resistivity is reduced below a predetermined value in the finished antennas. A copper-containing metallic stud is embedded in at least one end of the uncured antennas and is bonded to the rubber by vulcanization during curing of the rubber. The antenna has improved physical properties, uniformity of volume resistivity, and reduced resistivity variation with stress.
