摘要:
A method of preparing a seamless membrane over a flat or low-sloped roof, the method comprising applying multiple layers of a liquid coating composition over a roof surface, where said step of applying includes applying at least one layer of a liquid coating composition that includes expandable graphite.

A cold applied adhesive that includes a blend of polyurethane pre-polymer, petroleum liquid and additive. The weight percent of petroleum liquid in the blend is less than 50 weight percent. The weight percent of polyurethane pre-polymer in the blend is less than 50 weight percent.

A polyurethane-modified bitumen coating composition of selected surface tack and fluidity. The composition includes: bitumen; a minor modifying amount of a polyurethane prepared by the reaction of a polyisocyanate and a hydroxyl terminated polybutadiene; a tackifier; and a filler material.

Compositions suitable for use as paving or as a binder for paving materials and possessing improved ductility, viscosity and resistance to oxidation are obtained by reacting a minor amount of a diisocyanate with asphalt. The preferred diisocyanate is toluene diisocyanate. This composition may be blended with urethane in situ or the urethane-forming components, e.g., polyhydroxy-terminated polydiene and hydrocarbon diisocyanate may be added separately. Blending the asphalt-diisocyanate composition with urethane-forming materials has been found to improve viscosity and homogeneity and decrease the amount of carbon tetrachloride insolubles.

Disclosed are a hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene-based polyurethane (HTPB-PU)-modified asphalt and a preparation method thereof. In the disclosure, the HTPB-PU-modified asphalt includes the following components in parts by weight: 90 parts to 97 parts of a base asphalt and 3 parts to 10 parts of HTPB-PU, where the HTPB-PU is prepared from raw materials including an isocyanate and a polyol, and the polyol includes hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene (HTPB) with a weight percentage of not less than 80%.
摘要:
An asphaltic isocyanurate foam useful in roofing applications. Asphalt is liquified and mixed with a mixture of polyisocyanate. In a separate mixture, other chemicals, such as polyols, surfactant, catalyst, and blowing agent are combined. The mixtures are combined and reacted to form an asphaltic polyurethane foam.

The invention relates to methods for processing floor coverings (100), such as carpet and/or carpet tile, having at least one layer containing a polyurethane (104), such that at least this polyurethane—containing layer (104) can be recycled and reused. The method involves contacting the floor covering (100) with an organic polyol (110) and heating (120) it, so that the polyurethane—containing layer (104) softens and/or partially liquefies, but can be resolidified by contact with additional polyisocyanate (140).
摘要:
A modified bitumen sheet material and method for a protective moisture barrier, particularly for masonry surfaces. The sheet material has a bitumen layer modified by the addition of a minor amount of a long-chain polybutadiene-isocyanate urethane polymer and optionally, a modifying amount of a hydrocarbon oil to provide a stable, non-flow and selected tackified surface properties to the bitumen layer. The sheet material includes a releasable casting paper film on one surface of the bitumen layer, to be removed prior to use, and a cross-linked polyethylene film bonded to the other outer surface of the bitumen layer as a handling or moisture barrier sheet. The sheet material is prepared by casting the hot, melted bitumen as a layer onto a casting paper sheet and applying the outer film to the exposed bitumen surface to bond to the top surface.

Foam compositions with improved physical characteristics are from urethane prepolymers in the presence of various modifying agents. Blowing agents employed in the presence of surfactants make it possible to obtain either open or closed cell structures, and the degree of foam stiffness may be desirably controlled with polyols, as well as with polymeric polymethylene polyphenylisocyanates. Suitable modifying agents include asphalts, portland cement, epichlorohydrin, other epoxidized compounds, additional polymers, and various other materials.
