Abstract:
The present invention relates to a non-toxic and biodegradable low dosage gas hydrate inhibitor comprising hyper-branched polyester polyols having hydroxyl end groups which are chemically modified. Further, the invention relates to a method for controlling gas hydrate formation and plugging of gas hydrate forming fluids and the use of the gas hydrate inhibitors for this purpose.
Abstract:
To determine properties of multiple oil and gas wells, oscillations at different test frequencies are applied to the flow rate and/or pressure of multiple wells. Measurements of flow rate and/or pressure and temperature in flows downstream of a production header of the multiple wells are then obtained. Such measurements from the flows of the multiple wells are subjected to a frequency analysis of the pressure, flow rate and/or temperature measurements to determine pressure, flow rate and/or temperature variations induced by the applied oscillations. Properties of the different wells of the multiple wells based on the results of the frequency analysis are thus determined.
Abstract:
Polybranched organic/inorganic hybrid polymer and method for its manufacture. The hybrid polymer has the form of an inorganic core carrying organic branches. The core is first prepared by controlled hydrolysis and condensation of a silane with a structure: X—B—Si(—Y)3 in which X=NR1R2, while R1, R2 are chosen among hydrogen, alkyl and aryl, or R1, R2 are chosen among condensation products, addition products of one or more type of chemical substances such as acids, alcohols, phenols, amines, aldehydes or epoxides. B is a linkage group chosen among alkylene and arylene which may include oxygen, nitrogen, sulphur, phosphorous, silicon and boron. Y is chosen among hydrolyzable residues such as alkoxy, carboxyl, and halogen. The organic branches are developed by substituting N—H hydrogen atoms in the X—B group by reactions that are typical for primary and secondary amines, and/or by adding an acid that causes an addition to the N atoms of the X—B group in the core. Specific uses of the hybrid polymers are also indicated.

The material comprises a position of particles of XaSb or XaOb and the element(s) X, where X is one or more elements selected from the group Ce, La, Pr, Nd, Y, Ti, Al, Zr, Ca, Ba, Sr, Mg, Si, Mn, Cr, V, B, Nb, Mo and Fe, and S is sulphur, (O is oxygen), wherein said material additionally contains oxygen, sulphur, carbon and nitrogen, wherein the sulphur (or oxygen) content is between 2 and 30% by weight of said material, while the total content of oxygen (or sulphur), carbon and nitrogen and said other elements selected from the group X is between 98 and 70% by weight of said material, and the said material contains a high volume fraction of finely dispersed XaSb or XaOb particles embedded in a metallic matrix X. The invention further concerns methods for production and use of the composite material.

Abstract:
It is described a method and a system for wireless in-situ sampling of a reservoir fluid from a hydrocarbon reservoir comprising obtaining a number of local samples of the reservoir fluid from different zones of the reservoir at given times. Local characterization of production fluid is obtained based on identifying chemical fingerprints of each of the number of local samples. This information can be used to determine local production rates from different zones in the well or from coming led wells.

Abstract:
This invention relates to a system and method for detecting target molecules using an optical sensor element including a photonic crystal constituted by a membrane of a chosen transparent material, being provided with a number of defined openings in a chosen pattern, a chosen number of the openings providing capture molecules having a high affinity to target molecules, the pattern being adapted to provide resonance at a chosen wavelength, or range of wavelengths. The system and method also moving a first fluid flow containing target molecules through the openings and after this conducting a second fluid flow containing a second reactant being different from the capture molecules but having a high affinity for the target molecules but a low affinity for other possible molecules in the first flow. By illuminating the sensor element at a chosen wavelength thus obtaining a resonance and imaging means for providing an image of the sensor element it is possible to detect tight leaking from the resonator. Analyzing means may then detect the captured molecules as well as the reactant having reacted with them based on the amount of light leaking from the resonator.
