Abstract:
Embodiments of a system and method for secure discovery and identification of devices via a wireless network are generally described herein. In some embodiments a wireless device may transmit an anonymous ephemeral identifier that may be utilized by a second device to determine, by accessing a provider or social network, whether the private identity masked by the ephemeral identifier is known to the user of the second device. In some embodiments a provider may receive user or device registrations; maintain a record of private identifiers, ephemeral identifiers, and known user data for a plurality of users; and access one or more social networks to acquire known user data. The ephemeral identifiers may be periodically updated by the provider. In some embodiments a discovery module in a plurality of devices may automatically establish a communication connection between devices in response to a previously established relationship between users of the respective devices.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a method for manufacturing a printed circuit board with optical waveguides capable of reducing light loss by forming a bent portion having a changing pattern shape on a core layer and attaching a reflective member thereto to increase reflectivity. The method for manufacturing a printed circuit board with optical waveguides includes; (a) forming a lower clad layer on a base substrate; (b) applying a core material onto the lower clad layer; (c) performing exposure on the core material using a photo mask having a pattern; (d) performing development on the core material subjected to the exposure and forming a bent portion having a changing pattern shape to form a core layer; (e) applying an upper clad layer onto the lower clad layer having the core layer formed thereon; (f) performing exposure and development on the upper clad layer to expose a reflective portion of the machined bent portion to the outside; and (g) attaching a reflective member to the reflective portion exposed to the outside. Therefore, the bent portion having the changing pattern shape is machined to have a curved shape or an oblique shape and the reflective member is attached thereto, thereby making it possible to minimize light loss.
Abstract:
A security system for an external data storage apparatus and a control method thereof, in which a data storage is driven by reading an identification (ID), which is input through a key input unit for the purpose of security of the external data storage apparatus, and then checking whether or not the read ID is equal to a previously registered ID, thereby preventing data from leaking out and being damaged in advance by another person, and safely protecting the data of a user. The security system comprises a data storage, in which data is stored; a high-speed serial bus, which connects the data storage with a data terminal, which read and write the data stored in the data storage; a key input unit, which converts an ID, which is input by operation of a user, to an electrical signal and outputs the converted signal; a memory, which stores and sets the ID input by the key input unit; and a control circuit, which, when the ID input by the key input unit is applied, compares the input ID with the preset ID stored in the memory, drives the data storage based on the compared result, and re-arranges storage sectors of the data storage to prevent the data from leaking out of the data storage when an unauthorized data terminal provides access.

This invention relates to electrically conductive and non-conductive polymer composite materials suitable for use as polymer composites, electrically conductive materials, electromagnetic wave shielding materials, heating elements, antistatic materials, substitute for existing polymer composites, and the like. The invention also relates to methods of making the electrically conductive and non-conductive polymer composite materials, and compositions containing the polymer composites also are disclosed herein.
Abstract:
Logic may decide which service advertisement information to transmit in a service advertisement frame based on link margin information of each service advertisement received. Logic may filter the service advertisement information to avoid advertising service information for service providers that cannot be reached. A first station may receive a service advertisement from a second station and determine whether to include the service advertisement with a transmission of the first station's service advertisement based upon perceived proximity of the second station. A station may generate a Leaving Message if a user terminates service advertisements of the station or the station appears to be moving away from a service advertisement group. In response to receiving a Leaving Message from a neighboring station, a station may remove the neighboring station from a list of service providers maintained by the station.
Abstract:
A display device is disclosed. The display device includes a display panel, a frame disposed in the rear of the display panel, a backlight unit disposed between the display panel and the frame, a driver attached to a back surface of the frame, and a back cover that is disposed in the rear of the driver and is connected to the back surface of the frame. At least one of the frame and the back cover includes a heat dissipation member.
Abstract:
Provided is an electro-optic modulating device. The electro-optic modulating device includes an optical waveguide with a vertical structure and sidewalls of the vertical structure are used to configure a junction.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for I/Q modulation are provided. According to the apparatus and method, the symbol error probability performance of a conventional I/Q modulation method can be improved by a maximum of 3dB, and when the same symbol error rate (SER) as that of the conventional method is obtained, the power consumption can be reduced to half that required by the conventional method. The apparatus includes: an oscillator generating a sine wave signal; an IQ sine wave signal generation unit adjusting the phase of the sine wave signal based on I channel data and Q channel data, thereby generating an I channel sine wave signal and a Q channel sine wave signal such that a signal obtained by mixing a first signal and a second signal satisfies the condition that the mixed signal has a phase on a signal constellation diagram corresponding to the I and Q channel data, in which the first signal is obtained by applying the I channel data to the I channel sine wave signal and the second signal obtained by applying the Q channel data to the Q channel sine wave signal; and a transmission signal generation unit generating a transmission signal corresponding to the I and Q channel data, by respectively applying the I channel data and the Q channel data to the I channel sine wave signal and the Q channel sine wave signal.
