    Abstract: Disclosed herein is a lighting device including a luminaire having a first light emitter configured to output image and a second light emitter configured to output illumination light. The first light emitter is oriented with the second light emitter such that an available output region of the second light emitter at least substantially overlaps an available output region of the first light emitter. The lighting device also includes a processing system coupled to a driver system, which is coupled to the luminaire. The processing system, via the driver system, is configured to operate the first light emitter to output the image and operate the second light emitter to output the illumination light; and during the operations of the first and light emitters to output a combined light via the substantial overlap, to control the output of at least one of the image or the illumination light to control flicker due to interaction of a portion of the image and a portion of the illumination light.

    Abstract: For a programmable direct current (DC)-DC converter application, a driver system includes a switched mode power circuit for providing a DC power signal to an electrical load and a control block. Control block includes interfaces coupled to receive at least one input signal from a low voltage region of the switched mode power circuit and to provide at least one control signal to the low voltage region. Control block configures the switched mode power circuit to provide the DC power signal having at least one power parameter within a tolerance of a power configuration setting value of the electrical load. Control block responds to the at least one input signal from the low voltage region to adjust operation of the low voltage region via the at least one control signal. Low voltage region can include a plurality of switched converter circuits.

    Abstract: A ultraviolet (UV) intensity indicator might use a UV responsive lumiphore to provide a converted, visible light level proportional to received UV light intensity for comparison to a visible brightness reference. For a desired UV intensity, the converted light should normally appear at least as bright as the reference light. For undesired UV, e.g. in a harmful wavelength range, the converted light should appear dimmer than the reference for normal operation and/or appear as bright as or brighter than the reference during excessive emission of the potentially hazardous UV emission. Alternatively, saturable lumiphores may provide different color outputs responsive to UV intensities for comparison to a multi-colored reference. Other examples contemplate use of a lumiphore to convert UV light to provide a visible light input to a visible light meter, such that an illuminance or brightness measurement by the meter gives a proportional representation of intensity of the UV light.

    Abstract: The examples herein relate to assembly techniques and structures for an electrowetting cell, e.g. a fluid lens, a fluid prism or a single cell that may support both variable lens and variable prism functions. The resulting cell structure, for example, may support both beam shaping and steering functions, e.g. supporting use of the same electrowetting cell structure for a wider variety of optical processing applications. The resulting cell may be used in combination with an optical/electrical transducer or an array of cells may be used with a transducer in systems for a various light input and/or output applications.
