    Abstract: Described are mechanisms for eNB support of DRS in LAA, in which DRS is transmitted at one or more DRS occasions within a DMTC window, subject to LBT. In some embodiments, an eNB may include hardware processing circuitry comprising an antenna port, a first circuitry, a second circuitry, and a third circuitry. The first circuitry may be operable to determine a DMTC window of a wireless communication channel. The second circuitry may be operable to initiate one or more CCA checks through an antenna coupled to the antenna port prior to a DRS occasion within a DMTC time window. The third circuitry may be operable to initiate a DRS transmission through the antenna within the DMTC window upon a CCA check of the set of one or more CCA checks sensing that the wireless communication channel is idle. Also described are mechanisms for proactive support of DRS in LAA.

Operating a UE in an unlicensed spectrum in TDD can comprise generating a bitmap message. Generating a bitmap message can include accessing a bitmap comprising a plurality of positions based on a plurality of supported HARQ processes including the HARQ process, mapping a HARQ process identifier (ID) of the HARQ process to a position from the plurality of positions of the partitioned bitmap, and generating a bitmap message comprising the ACK/NACK message in the position of the bitmap corresponding to the HARQ process ID.

    Abstract: An apparatus configured to be employed in a gNodeB associated with a new radio (NR) communication system that support resource sharing between NR physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) and NR physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) is disclosed.     Abstract: Embodiments of a User Equipment (UE), Evolved Node-B (eNB) and methods for communication are generally described herein. The UE may receive downlink control information (DCI) that schedules a transport block (TB) that includes multiple code blocks. The UE may determine a transport block size (TBS) based on the DCI. The UE may attempt to decode the code blocks. The UE may, if the TBS is greater than a predetermined threshold: bundle the code blocks into code block groups for hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) acknowledgement; and transmit a HARQ bit per code block group. The UE may, if the TBS is less than or equal to the threshold, transmit a HARQ bit that indicates whether a decode failure has occurred for at least one of the code blocks of the TB.

    Abstract: Licensed assisted access (LAA) uplink (UL) transmissions can be performed using UL scheduling, enhanced node B (eNB) listen before talk (LBT), and user equipment (UE) LBT. A scheduling of a UE for UL transmission can include different procedures for a UE to perform LBT before UL transmission. These procedures can be classified as: i) a scheduled UE performing no LBT for UL transmission, ii) a scheduled UE performing fast LBT (as compared to the eNB) with a more aggressive choice of parameters than the eNB and iii) a scheduled UE performing LBT using parameters as used by the eNB for LBT. In some embodiments, the UL grant transmission by the eNB occurs in the unlicensed band after a successful LBT procedure at the eNB.

Various embodiments are implemented in LTE systems with license-assisted access (LAA) associated communications. In one embodiment, a UE processes one or more uplink grants from an eNB scheduling transmissions on multiple unlicensed carriers at a first time, and indicating a first channel access procedure. The UE then selects a first unlicensed carrier and performs the first channel access procedure, and performs a second channel access procedure on a second unlicensed carrier of the multiple unlicensed carriers.
