Abstract: A method is performed at a computing system that includes a first housing with a primary display and a second housing at least partially containing a physical keyboard and a touch-sensitive secondary display. The method includes: displaying, on the primary display, a first user interface for an application executed by the computing system. The method also includes: displaying, on the touch-sensitive secondary display, a second user interface, the second user interface comprising a set of one or more affordances corresponding to the application. The method further includes: detecting a notification and, in response to detecting the notification, concurrently displaying, in the second user interface, the set of one or more affordances corresponding to the application and at least a portion of the detected notification on the touch-sensitive secondary display. In some embodiments, the detected notification is not displayed on the primary display.

Abstract: The computing system includes a primary display, memory, and a housing at least partially containing a physical in put mechanism and a touch screen adjacent to the physical input mechanism: displays, on the primary display, a first user interface, the first user interface comprising one or more user interface elements; and identifies an active user interface element among the one or more user interface elements that is in focus on the primary display. In accordance with a determination that the active user interface element that is in focus on the primary display is associated with an application executed by the computing system, the computing system displays a second user interface on the touch screen, including: (A) a first set of corresponding to the application; and (B) at least one system-level affordance corresponding a system-level functionality.

Abstract: An electronic device, while displaying a user interface of a first software application, detects a first input, including a contact that does not satisfy a first threshold and is detected at a location associated with region of the user interface associated with at least a first operation. In response to the first input, if a first tactile output setting is active for the first input, the device performs the first operation without generating a tactile output, and if a second tactile output setting is active for the first input, the device forgoes performing the first operation. In response to a second input that includes a contact that satisfies the first intensity threshold and is detected at a location associated with the region of the user interface, if the second tactile output setting is active for the second input, the device performs the first operation and generates a tactile output.

Abstract: An electronic device with a display, a touch-sensitive surface, and one or more sensors to detect intensity of contacts with the touch-sensitive surface: detects, on the touch-sensitive surface, a gesture that includes an increase of intensity of a contact above a respective intensity threshold. Abstract: An electronic device with a touch-sensitive surface and a display displays a representation of a clock on the display, detects an input directed to the representation of the clock, while detecting the input directed to the representation of the clock, and provides tactile feedback that corresponds to the clock, wherein the tactile feedback includes a regular pattern of tactile outputs on the touch-sensitive surface. While providing the tactile feedback, the device detects that the input is no longer directed to the representation of the clock, and in response to detecting that the input is no longer directed to the representation of the clock, ceases to provide the tactile feedback corresponding to the clock.

Abstract: Electronic devices may use touch pads that have touch sensor arrays, force sensors, and actuators for providing tactile feedback. A touch pad may be mounted in a computer housing. The touch pad may have a rectangular planar touch pad member that has a glass layer covered with ink and contains a capacitive touch sensor array. Force sensors may be mounted under each of the four corners of the rectangular planar touch pad member. The force sensors may be used to measure how much force is applied to the surface of the planar touch pad member by a user. Processed force sensor signals may indicate the presence of button activity such as press and release events. In response to detected button activity or other activity in the device, actuator drive signals may be generated for controlling the actuator. The user may supply settings to adjust signal processing and tactile feedback parameters.

Abstract: An electronic device with a touch-sensitive display detects an input on the touch-sensitive display, which includes detecting a contact on the touch-sensitive display while the touch-sensitive display is in a low power mode. In response to detecting the input on the touch-sensitive display while the touch-sensitive display is in the low-power mode, if the input meets display-activation criteria, the device displays a respective user interface on the touch-sensitive display, wherein the respective user interface was not displayed on the touch-sensitive display when the touch-sensitive display was in the low-power mode. And, if the input does not meet the display-activation criteria, the device maintains the touch-sensitive display in the low-power mode after detecting the input without displaying the respective user interface on the touch-sensitive display.

Abstract: An electronic device with a display, a touch-sensitive surface and one or more intensity sensors displays content. While a focus selector is over the content, the device detects a gesture on the touch-sensitive surface, the gesture including a first contact on the touch-sensitive surface and movement of the first contact across the touch-sensitive surface that corresponds to movement of the focus selector on the display. In response to detecting the gesture, when the contact has an intensity below a selection intensity threshold, the device scrolls the content on the display in accordance with the movement of the focus selector on the display without selecting the content. In response to detecting the gesture, when the contact has an intensity above the selection intensity threshold, the device selects at least a portion of the content in accordance with the movement of the focus selector over the content.

Abstract: An electronic device has multiple cameras and displays a digital viewfinder user interface for previewing visual information provided by the cameras. The multiple cameras may have different properties such as focal lengths. When a single digital viewfinder is provided, the user interface allows zooming over a zoom range that includes the respective zoom ranges of both cameras. The zoom setting to determine which camera provides visual information to the viewfinder and which camera is used to capture visual information. The user interface also allows the simultaneous display of content provided by different cameras at the same time. When two digital viewfinders are provided, the user interface allows zooming, freezing, and panning of one digital viewfinder independently of the other. The device allows storing of a composite images and/or videos using both digital viewfinders and corresponding cameras.
