Abstract: A method and apparatus for a wireless device of reduced capabilities to access a wireless communication network targeted to operate with wireless device having higher capabilities is disclosed. The device may receive from abase station of the wireless communication network an indication of whether the type of devices that includes the wireless device of reduced capabilities is allowed to access the wireless communication network. The device may transmit to the base station signaling associated with connecting to the base station if the base station indicates that the type of devices with reduced capabilities is allowed to access the wireless communication network. The signaling allows the device to connect to the base station. The device may transmit capability information of the device to the base station. The device may configure its features based on the capability information to communicate with the base station.

Abstract: Embodiments are presented herein for adjusting the conduct of routine communications of safety messages in V2X networks in order to conserve resources in participating power-limited devices while satisfying V2X system latency demands. Scheduling (e.g., timing and/or frequency) of safety message communications performed by certain UE devices participating in a V2X network may be dynamically adjusted according to various criteria, such as factors relating to the DRX cycle schedule, motion or mobility, traffic environment, and/or battery or power capabilities of the UE devices, which may conserve UE resources and power consumption. Certain UE devices may efficiently transmit safety messages to the V2X network using one of several proposed RACH-based procedures. In some embodiments, the size of safety message communications may be reduced through various compression techniques, and/or by reducing the amount of contained information, e.g., by omitting certain parameters, which may reduce the resources consumed by performing safety message communications.

Abstract: Groupcast communications between devices of a group of devices, e.g. between vehicles in a platoon, may include a device in the group transmitting a groupcast message in a sidelink transmission to the other devices and receiving feedback information in sidelink transmissions from the other devices within the same channel occupancy time (CoT). The feedback information may be transmitted by the other devices in response to the groupcast message including an information request directed to the other devices. The group of devices may include a designated group leader which may manage one or more aspects of the communications of the other devices in the group. The designated group leader may be dynamically switched based at least on the received feedback information. The devices in the group may use beamforming for intra-group and inter-group sidelink communications for efficient spectrum usage.

Abstract: Some aspects of this disclosure relate to apparatuses and methods for implementing downlink transmission and interlace uplink transmission. For example, some aspects of this disclosure relate to a base station including a transceiver configured to communicate over a wireless network with a user equipment (UE) and a processor communicatively coupled to the transceiver. The processor divides a plurality of candidate Synchronization Signal Block (SSB) positions in a time window into a plurality of groups and communicates, using the transceiver, information associated with the plurality of groups of candidate SSB positions to the UE. The processor further performs a listen-before-talk (LBT) procedure. In response to the LBT procedure being successful, the processor determines a first group of the plurality of groups and transmits, using the transceiver, one or more SSBs on one or more candidate SSB positions of the first group to the UE.

In one aspect, a UE is capable of maintaining connectivity of a first RAT and connectivity of a second RAT.
