Abstract: Network hardware devices organized in a wireless mesh network (WMN) in which one mesh network device includes a first radio and one or more additional radios coupled to an application processor. The application processor receives a request to stream content data to a client consumption device, via the first radio, and receives portions of the content data from multiple devices at different retrieval rates via the one or more additional radios. The application processor calculates an average retrieval rate for retrieving the first segments and the second segments, determines a desired streaming bitrate value, and determines an end time to complete transmission of a first portion to the client consumption device. The application processor transmits, via the first radio, the first portion such that at least one byte of the first portion is transmitted at the end time to complete transmission of the first portion.

Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for provisioning radio-based networks with locality rules. In one embodiment, at least one locality rule associated with an organization is accessed. The locality rule(s) require that at least a subset of network traffic for a radio-based network remain within a particular geographic area. The radio-based network includes a radio access network and an associated core network. A topology for the radio-based network is determined based at least in part on the locality rule(s). The radio-based network is provisioned or reconfigured for the organization to have the topology complying with the at least one locality rule.

Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for certificate-based authentication in radio-based networks. In one embodiment, a request for service from a radio-based network is received from a client device. The request for service includes a secure certificate. The radio-based network includes a radio access network and an associated core network. The authenticity of the secure certificate is validated based at least in part on a certificate signature in the secure certificate signed by a certificate authority. It is determined that an entity identified in the secure certificate is permitted to access the radio-based network. Radio-based network access is provided to the client device in response to determining that the entity is permitted to access the radio-based network.

The radio units are preconfigured to implement a radio access network for the radio-based private network. A shipment is initiated to the customer of the radio units that have been preconfigured. Resources in a cloud provider network are provisioned to function as a core network for the radio-based private network.

The particular computing device is connected to a communications network. A request is sent that causes a network slice allocation service to reserve a network slice having the quality-of-service requirement in the communications network. Data to or from the application is transmitted using the network slice.

Abstract: Technology for content distribution in wireless mesh network is described. In one embodiment, a cloud computing system includes one or more computing devices running a media provider service and a content management service. The media provider service is configured to select a subset of a plurality of media titles having a highest relative popularity available from one or more media content providers for distribution to one or more mesh nodes in a wireless mesh network. The content management service is configured to retrieve media content files corresponding to the subset of the plurality of media titles, divide each of the media content files into a plurality of smaller segments, send at least a portion of the plurality of smaller segments to the one or more mesh nodes in the wireless mesh network.
