Abstract:
A method of facilitating monitoring of a multimedia call made up of a plurality of component parts, to enable the multimedia call contents to be identified at a predetermined location, the multimedia call originating from a location at which a first communications protocol operates and passing through at least one location where a second communications protocol operates to a destination, the method comprising the steps of: identifying the component parts of the multimedia call; removing one or more control signals from the component parts to form a call control signal for the multimedia call and a set of remaining component parts of the multimedia call; forming a multiplexed stream of the remaining component parts of the multimedia call; independently transmitting the call control signal and the multiplexed stream to the predetermined location to enable the component parts of the multimedia call to be determined in order to identify multimedia call contents.
Abstract:
A method, a control node and a program unit for controlling the establishment or modification of a connection for a subscriber having a subscription in a communication network are disclosed. The connection is to be established or modified between nodes that are adapted to employ a coding scheme selected from a plurality of supported coding schemes potentially affecting connection quality. In accordance with the invention a subscribed quality level indicating a target quality level for the subscriber associated with the subscription is determined, and a node controlling the connection checks the subscribed quality level when it selects a coding scheme to be employed for the connection.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for providing both Mobile Terminated, MT, and Mobile Originated, MO, circuit switched (CS) services such as Short Message Service, SMS, services in networks utilizing CS Fallback and CSoLTE-I architectures. An extended SGs interface referred to as SGs+ is implemented between a Mobility Management Entity, MME, in an SAE core network and a Mobile Switching Center Server, MSC-S. The SGs+ interface supports transmission of upper layer CS packet data units while utilizing either connectionless or connection-oriented Signaling Connection Control Part, SCCP, operation. The non access stratum, NAS, signaling support between the User Equipment, UE, and the MME is extended to provide support for both MT SMS and MO SMS service.
Abstract:
A method for initiating handover of a circuit switched service using a circuit switched bearer of a mobile station from a circuit switched to a packet switched domain in a mobile communications network, the mobile communications network comprising a radio network and a core network, the radio network comprising a controlling node, the mobile station being o allocated an IP address and access port, said method comprising the controlling node communicating to the core network a relocation/handover required message; said relocation/handover required message comprising an indication of the IP address and access port allocated to the mobile station.
Abstract:
A technique for providing circuit-switched cal services for a call stretching between a packet-switched domain and circuit-switched domain is provided. A possible server implementation of this technique includes a first interface adapted to receive packet-switched protocol messages requesting circuit-switched call services, a service component providing the requested call services, and a second interface adapted to pass call control towards the circuit-switched domain after the call services have been provided.
Abstract:
A method, arrangement and network entities for controlling supplementary subscriber services in first (1) and second (12) operatively connected, overlayed telecommunications networks. Supplementary subscriber services available to a subscriber (4) in the first telecommunications network (1) may be executed in the second telecommunications network (12). These supplementary subscriber services are controlled by the subscriber (4) from the first telecommunications network (1). The first telecommunications network (1) is provided with a supplementary subscriber services handling indicator (20), indicating in which one of the first (1) and second (12) telecommunications network a supplementary subscriber service of a subscriber (4) is to be executed. Based on this supplementary subscriber services handling indicator (20), while maintaining a user control interface in the first telecommunications network (1), supplementary subscriber services control messages are processed in the respective network (1; 12) in which a particular supplementary service is to be executed.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a technique for controlling establishment of a tandem free operation (TFO) for transfer of TFO frames including content frames between a first and a second transcoder unit without transcoding of the content frames. A method aspect of the technique comprises the steps of transmitting, in case a remotely used codec does not meet a codec compatibility condition, a first transparent mode message indicating to in-path equipment a transparent mode for subsequent transparent TFO negotiation, and transmitting, in the transparent mode, a TFO configuration frame indicating a local TFO codec list.
Abstract:
The invention proposes several methods for codec handling. In specific, methods involving providing a supported codec list of a Call Control Server are described. A node receives information, whether a terminal supports a wideband codec, wherein the information is received in call set up signaling from the terminal of the subscriber. Furthermore, configuration information is retrieved, whether a Radio Access Node supports the wideband codec. Additionally, information is retrieved, whether a media gateway supports the wideband codec, wherein the information is either provided by the operator or retrieved from the media gateway (MGW1, MGW2, MGWx). The information is analyzed and in response to the analysis a supported codec list is provided. Furthermore, alternative embodiments and devices adapted for the methods are disclosed.
Abstract:
The present invention proposes a solution for providing IMS services to users having circuit-switched controlled terminal being not adapted to provide IMS services to the users. In particular, it is proposed, in order to allow IMS to take the full call and service control, to place a user agent being responsible for the user ported to the IMS in a new node type called Mobile Access Gateway Control Function (MAGCF). This new node combines the logical functionality of a cellular switching center and the logical functionality of IMS. Further it is proposed to enhance a user's register, like HLR, to provide also information about the availability of a MAGCF node and about whether a particular user is enabled to use the MAGCF functionality.
