Abstract: The present disclosure relates to selecting a Local Management Function (LMF) in a wireless communication network, a next generation Radio Access Network (NG-RAN) acquires a capability from a user equipment (UE), the capability indicating whether the UE is capable of supporting LMF in Radio Access Network (RAN). An access and mobility management function (AMF) is then notified whether the UE is capable of supporting LMF in RAN. An LMF selection is then received from the AMF. Then a response is transmitted to the UE based on the received LMF selection, the response indicating whether a positioning procedure to be carried out by the UE is based on LMF in RAN. In this manner, the capabilities of the UE are taken into consideration when selecting an LMF for a positioning procedure.

Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, methods, and computer-readable media are provided for a user equipment (UE) for a wireless communication system. The UE determines at least one sidelink primary synchronization signal (S-PSS) sequence of at least one S-PSS signal. The at least one S-PSS sequence is different from a primary synchronization signal (PSS) sequence. The EE also determines at least one sidelink secondary synchronization signal (S-SSS) sequence of at least one S-SSS signal. The EE determines a plurality of S-PSS symbols and a plurality of S-SSS symbols corresponding to a sub carrier spacing (SCS). The EE transmits to another EE the determined plurality of S-SSS symbols after the determined plurality of S-PSS symbols. The SCS may be associated with a physical resource block (PRB) allocation size. A maximum of 11 PRBs for a sidelink synchronization signal block (S-SSB) may be set based on the SCS.

Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, methods, and computer-readable media are provided for an access point (AP) for a wireless communication system. The AP includes processor circuitry configured to configure a bandwidth part (BWP) for downlink (DL) positioning reference signals (PRS) and a BWP for DL data transmission to a user equipment (UE), wherein the BWP for DL PRS provides DL PRS to the UE for a UE-based positioning operation. The processor circuitry is configured to select an action to be performed by the UE in response to receiving the configured BWP for DL PRS and the configured BWP for DL data transmission by the UE. The AP includes radio front end circuitry that is coupled to the processor circuitry and configured to transmit, to the UE, the configured BWP for DL PRS, the configured BWP for DL data transmission, and the selected action. The wireless communication is a 5G system or a 5G new radio (5G-NR) system.

Abstract: Embodiments of a User Equipment (UE), Next Generation Node-B (gNB), Evolved Node-B (eNB) and methods of communication are generally described herein. The UE may determine, based on one or more detected synchronization signals, a reference timing to be used for a common synchronization of Long Term Evolution (LTE) sidelink communication on an LTE PC5 interface and New Radio (NR) sidelink communication on an NR PC5 interface in accordance with time division multiplexing (TDM) operation, wherein subframe boundaries of the LTE PC5 interface and the NR PC5 interface are aligned in time. If the UE detects, during a time period, an in-device conflict between a service configured for the LTE PC5 interface and a service configured for the NR PC5 interface, the UE may determine which of the services to support during the time period based on corresponding priorities.

Abstract: A method and apparatus of a device that performs a new radio (NR) downlink (DL) positioning reference signal (PRS) resource scheduling is described. In an exemplary embodiment, the device configures at least one of a NR DL PRS Resource Pool, a NR DL PRS Resource Set, a NR DL PRS Resource, and a muting pattern. In addition, the configured NR DL PRS Resource Set may be assigned to a separate Transmission Reception Point (TRP). Furthermore, a list of configured NR DL PRS Resource Sets can be assigned to a separate TRP. The assigned NR DL PRS Resource Set may include PRS Resources with different spatial filters. In addition, the assigned NR DL PRS Resource Set can include PRS Resources with the same spatial filter.
