Abstract: A next generation NodeB (gNB) implements a radio access network (RAN) convergence functionality for new radio (NR) and wireless local area network (WLAN) access, the gNB further implementing a split architecture comprising a central unit (CU) and a distributed unit (DU) for each of the NR access and WLAN access. The gNB receives a data packet for transmission to a user equipment (UE) implementing the RAN convergence functionality, the data packet comprising one of a control plane (CP) packet or a user plane (UP) packet. The gNB splits the data packet via a convergence layer residing on the NR CU or a convergence layer residing on the WLAN CU and transmits the split data packet over the NR access and the WLAN access.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to embodiments broadcasting timing misalignment (TΔ or T_ delta or Tdelta) information in a fifth generation (5G) new radio (NR) integrated access and backhaul (IAB) network. Tdelta information associated with an IAB node is determined based on a downlink (DL) transmit (TX) timing associated with the IAB node and an uplink (UL) receive (RX) timing associated with the IAB node. A determination is made whether the Tdelta information is to common to at least one child node associated with the IAB node and at least one child user equipment (UE) associated with the IAB node. A message having the Tdelta information is generated in response to the determination that the Tdelta information is common to at least one child node associated with the IAB node and at least one child UE associated with the IAB node. The message is broadcast to the child nodes associated with the IAB node and the child UEs associated with the IAB node.

Abstract: Apparatuses, methods, and computer-readable media are provided for determination of reference signal received power (RSRP) to estimate cross-link interference. The approach uses a received signal from a second UE and downlink (DL) timing information from a transmission reception point (TRP). The approach generates a corrected timing signal based on the received signal, the DL timing information and a reference sequence, and then extracts a symbol from the received signal and the corrected timing signal. The approach then transforms using a fast Fourier transform (FFT) circuit the symbol, and then cross-correlates with a reference sequence to generate a correlation result from which the RSRP is estimated.

Abstract: Resource allocation is provided for an integrated access and backhaul (IAB) network, such as a distributed unit (DU) of an IAB. Methods and systems for allocating resources include allocating a first cell-specific pattern of downlink-flexible-uplink (DL-F-UL) availability for one or more slots, allocating a second cell-specific pattern of DL-F-UL availability for the one or more slots. The IAB DU can signal one or more of the first and second cell-specific patterns to an other IAB DU. At least one of the first cell-specific pattern and the second cell-specific pattern defines a slot format different from a DL-F-UL format. Slot format configuration (e.g., semi-static or dynamic SFI) are provided to support space division multiplexing/spatial multiplexing (SDM).

Abstract: Systems and methods of reducing control plane latency in a 5G IAB network are described. SRs transmitted between nodes indicate that a control plane PDU is to be transmitted. The SRs use periodic resources or OCCs reserved for control plane signaling and are initiated by an RRC message or RACH from the UE. The SRs are initiated if the LCD field in the MAC sub header of the RRC message indicates the CCCH or the DCCH logical channel. If the PDU is available after the original resource, a resource is used that is provided via another grant, which is periodically provided or automatically initiated due to failure to transmit on the original grant. The SR or RRC message can also specify a delayed timeslot for the grant. For contention-based procedures the RACH preamble is randomly selected or selected from among a set of RACH preambles assigned for RRC procedures.

For example, an electronic device can include processor circuitry and radio front end circuitry coupled to the processor circuitry. The processor circuitry can be configured to receive a first information centric network (ICN) packet including an ICN name or an ICN common field and compress the ICN name or the ICN common field at a Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP) layer. The processor circuitry can be further configured to provide the compressed ICN name or the compressed ICN common field to a lower protocol layer. The radio front end circuitry can be configured to transmit a second ICN packet including the compressed ICN name or the compressed ICN common field.
