Abstract: The present invention relates to polyalkylene imine based polymers, which have aliphatic polyester groups attached to the polyalkylenimine backbone via an carboxamide group. The novel polymers are particularly useful as dispersants for pigments, in particular as dispersants for pigments in non-aqueous compositions. The polyalkylene imine based polymers are characterized by having a) a polyalkylene imine backbone; b) at least one aromatic moiety P.1, which is bound to a nitrogen atom of the polyalkylene imine backbone via an carboxamide or carboximide group; and c) at least one aliphatic polyester moiety P.2, which is bound to a nitrogen atom of the polyalkylene imine backbone via an carboxamide group.

Abstract: An aqueous, low-VOC/SVOC universal pigment preparation is provided, which contains (A) a pigment component; (B) a water-soluble additive containing at least one polyamine B, which is selected from the group consisting of polyvinylamines, poly-C2-C3-alkyleneimines, modified poly-C2-C3-alkyleneimines, melamines, modified melamines, poly-(C2-C4-alkyleneether) amines, polyetheramine polyols, and modified polyetheramine polyols; (C) an additive based on lecithin and/or an anionic additive based on a phosphoric ester and/or phosphonic ester; and (D) optionally further additives customary for producing an aqueous pigment preparation. The aqueous pigment preparation is suitable for coloring coating materials like paints, varnishes or renders, preferably for point-of-sale tinting (POS) or in in-plant tinting systems.

Abstract: Subject matter are aqueous, low-VOC/SVOC universal pigment preparations comprising a pigment component, a water-soluble, anionic, surface-active additive from the group of the homo- and copolymers of ethylenically unsaturated monocarboxylic or dicarboxylic acids, which may further comprise, in copolymerized form, vinyl monomers containing no acid function, and of the salts of these homo- and copolymers, the homo- and copolymers being at least partly esterified with a polyether alcohol or a derivative thereof, and comprising a phosphoric or phosphonic ester, and optionally customary additives. The aqueous pigment preparations are suitable for the coloring of inks, paints, and renders, especially in metering systems at the point of sale or in in-plant tinting systems.
