    Abstract: The invention relates to a defoamer composition. The invention also relates to a method for reducing or preventing foam in an aqueous composition. The defoamer composition of the invention comprises at least one hydrophobic liquid; and at least one modified polyacrylate polymer. The modified polyacrylate polymer is obtainable by a process comprising 1. polymerizing at least one acrylate monomer selected from substituted or unsubstituted C1-C22 alkyl acrylates, substituted or unsubstituted C4-C22 cycloalkyl acrylates, substituted or unsubstituted C1-C22 acrylamides, esters of acrylic acid with polyalkylether alcohol, or combinations of two or more thereof, to obtain at least one polyacrylate polymer; and 2. modifying the at least one polyacrylate polymer obtained in step (i) by transesterification with at least one alcohol selected from (c1) at least one unsubstituted C8-C36 alcohol, (c2) at least one polyalkylether alcohol, or combinations of two or more thereof.

    Abstract: Disclosed herein is a process of producing a polymeric dispersion by free radical emulsion polymerization of a monomer composition including ethylenically unsaturated monomers in the presence of a block copolymer. The block copolymer has a first block including at least 80 wt.-% units of alkyl acrylate and a second block including units of an ethylenically unsaturated monomer with sulfonic acid groups. Either the first or the second block is connected with a nitroxyl radical. The polymeric dispersion is obtainable by the disclosed process, and the block copolymer is used in the process. Further disclosed herein is a method of using the block copolymer as an emulsifying agent for free radical emulsion polymerization.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to compositions, comprising



    (A) platelet-shaped transition metal particles, wherein the number mean diameter of the platelet-shaped transition metal particles, present in the composition, is in the range of from 15 nm to 1000 nm, the transition metal is selected from silver, copper, gold and palladium, especially silver and copper, very especially silver;
    (B) one, or more reactive diluents (B);
    (C) one, or more oligomers (C);
    (D) one, or more photoinitiators (D);
    (E) at least a surfactant (E), which is a block copolymer, comprising at least a block A and a block B, wherein
    a) the block A comprises

    a2) monomer units (A2) derived from a hydroxy group, or ether group containing alkyl (meth)acrylate;
    b) the block B comprises monomer units (B) derived from a compound selected from fluorinated (meth)acrylic esters of formula






    H2C═CR46(C(O)ORF-1)  (XX), wherein



    R46 is H, or a methyl group; and
    RF-1 is an organic residue containing a perfluorinated alkyl group;
    (F) optionally one, or more polymeric binders;
    (F) optionally one, or more solvents; and
    (H) optionally further additives.




    The coatings, obtained with said compositions, show one color, when observed in transmission and another color, when observed in reflection on both sides of the cured coating.

    Abstract: The presently claimed invention is directed to a copolymer obtained by reacting at least one isocyanate (A) comprising at least one allophanate group and at least one active double bond with at least one isocyanate reactive component (B) to form an intermediate product (C); and reacting the intermediate product (C) with at least one active double bond reactive component (D) to obtain the copolymer which can be used as dispersant.
