    Abstract: A syringe interface between a piston and plunger is provided. The syringe interface includes a piston configured to be driven by an injector and a syringe. The syringe includes: a syringe barrel having a proximal end and a distal end; and a plunger having a proximal end, a distal end, and a sidewall extending therebetween. The plunger is slidably inserted in the syringe barrel such that the sidewall of the plunger forms a moveable seal against an inner surface of the syringe barrel. The piston is configured to form a removable suction engagement with the plunger for advancing or retracting the plunger through the syringe barrel as the piston is driven by the injector. A method for filling a syringe including a suction interface between a piston and plunger, as well as a filling station including a vacuum source, such as a vacuum pump, are also provided.

    Abstract: A syringe includes a barrel having a proximal end, a distal end, and a sidewall extending between the proximal end and the distal end along a longitudinal axis. At least one syringe retaining member protrudes radially outwardly relative to an outer surface of the sidewall. The at least one syringe retaining member tapers axially in a direction from the distal end toward the proximal end. The at least one syringe retaining member is configured for selective engagement with a locking mechanism on a fluid injector to releasably lock the syringe with the fluid injector. A taper of the at least one syringe retaining member is configured to rotationally guide the syringe into alignment with the locking mechanism.

    Abstract: A collapsible syringe assembly for a fluid delivery system is a multi-component device that includes a cylindrical pressure jacket and a collapsible syringe that is received within the pressure jacket. The collapsible syringe includes a cap member and a compressible or deformable sidewall member. The collapsible syringe in one embodiment is adapted to be secured to the pressure jacket by the cap member. The cap member is formed with a discharge port, which may be formed as conventional luer fitting. The discharge port is disposed coaxially within an annular wall on the outward facing side of the cap member and may be recessed within the annular wall.
