Abstract: The present invention is directed to a propylene polymer composition comprising at least one propylene copolymer (C-PP), and an α-nucleating agent (NU), wherein the propylene copolymer (C-PP) comprises two propylene copolymer fractions (PP1) and (PP2), wherein propylene copolymer fraction (PP1) is contained in the propylene copolymer (C-PP) in an amount of 30 to 70 wt. % and the propylene copolymer fraction (PP2) is contained in the propylene copolymer (C-PP) in an amount of 70 to 30 wt. %, the comonomer content of propylene copolymer fraction (PP1) is in the range of 0.5 to 2.5 wt.-% and the comonomer content of the propylene copolymer fraction (PP1) is lower compared to the comonomer content of the propylene copolymer fraction (PP2), and the propylene polymer composition has (a) a melt flow rate MFR2 (230° C.) measured according to according to ISO 1133 of 1 to 5 g/10 min., and (b) a comonomer content of 4.0 to 8.0 wt. %, the comonomer(s) being ethylene and/or at least one C4 to C12 α-olefin. The above propylene polymer composition has improved impact and optical properties. The invention further provides a method of producing the above propylene polymer composition and an extrusion blow molded article comprising the above propylene polymer composition.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to articles comprising a heterophasic polypropylene composition. The articles exhibit a combination of high stiffness, good dimensional stability, low shrinkage and reduced warpage properties and fast cycle times. Such articles are suitable in the rigid packaging area. The articles comprise a polypropylene composition comprising a heterophasic propylene copolymer which comprises a) a matrix phase (A) comprising at least one propylene homopolymer and/or a propylene copolymer, and b) a disperse phase (B) comprising a propylene copolymer rubber dispersed in the matrix phase (A), wherein the propylene copolymer rubber of the disperse phase (B) has a comonomer content of 30 to 55 wt. %, wherein the weight ratio of the matrix phase (A) and the disperse phase (B) is from 20:80 to 80:20; and the polypropylene composition has (i) a melt flow rate MFR2 of 1 g/10 min to 500 g/10 min, determined according to ISO 1133 (230° C., 2.16 kg load); and the article has (ii) a half-time of crystallisation t1/2 of 1 to 25 msec, measured at 80° C. by fast scanning calorimeter. The invention further relates to a process for preparing such a heterophasic polypropylene composition and its use for e.g. molded articles, in particular injection molded articles such as thin-walled containers.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a heterophasic polyolefin composition and articles produced therefrom with improved mechanical and optical properties, particularly low stress whitening. The present invention further relates to a process for the preparation of such a heterophasic polyolefin composition, articles made therefrom, particularly films, and uses of the heterophasic polyolefin composition. The heterophasic propylene copolymer composition comprises a heterophasic propylene copolymer (HECO) comprising a matrix (M) being a propylene homopolymer (H-PP) and an elastomeric propylene copolymer (EPC) dispersed in said matrix (M), wherein the heterophasic propylene copolymer (HECO) has (a) a melt flow rate MFf3/4 (2.16 kg, 230° C.) measured according to ISO 1133 in the range of 5.0 to 25.0 g/10 min, (b) a soluble fraction content (SF) determined by TREF fractionation on CRYSTEX QC, Polymer Char (Valencia, Spain) in the range of 10.0 to 25.0 wt. %, (c) an ethylene content of the soluble fraction content (SF) in the range of from 18 wt. % to less than 39 wt. %, (d) an intrinsic viscosity (IV) determined according to DIN ISO 1628/1 (in decalin at 135° C.) of the soluble fraction (SF) in the range of from 1.5 to 2.5 dl/g, (e) a crystalline fraction content (CF) determined by TREF fractionation on CRYSTEX QC, Polymer Char (Valencia, Spain) in the range of 75 to 90 wt. %, (f) an ethylene content of the crystalline fraction content (CF) of from 0.1 wt. % to 5.0 wt. %, and the heterophasic propylene copolymer composition has a total ethylene content in the range of from 7 to 30 wt. %, determined by quantitative NMR spectroscopy.

Abstract: Polypropylene composition comprising (A) 60 to 95 wt % of a heterophasic polypropylene (HECO) comprising 10 to 30 wt % of dispersed phase with the dispersed phase having a comonomer content of 30 to 45 wt % and the HECO having a melt flow rate MFRPP in the range of 12 to 200 g/10 min and being prepared in the presence of a Ziegler Natta catalyst (ZN-C), (B) 0 to 15 wt % of one or more elastomers, (C) 5 to 20 wt % of at least one filler wherein the polypropylene composition fulfils inequation (1) fogging≤0.02 MFRComp+0.3. The composition allows for a well-balanced combination of a good impact/stiffness balance, a good scratch resistance, low VOC and FOG emissions and remarkable good fogging values.
